I'm waiting for the Nielsen overnight's, I bet you ratings were in the toilet, and game four will probably draw crickets.
I don't know this for a fact, and if I get a chance later, I'll research this, but I don't think the NBA, the marketing and ad people don't start making serious money until there's a sixth game.

The serious money for all parties concerned would have been a Denver-Boston, that series would have been a major distraction.

One thing the casual fan learned that most of knew already is the Luka is a major jerk.

Obviously must win for Dallas. Looking at all the angles, model #s ,payout. This game stinks really bad. It's like the books are just asking you to add a rotten egg to one's portfolio.

Interestingly, it doesn't seem like the firey guard is ready to step on the brakes on his onslaught against the referees. In the postgame conference, he criticized the officiating, bemoaning that the Mavs couldn't turn on the physicality.
But it's worth noting that the Celtics were actually called for two more fouls than Dallas and had two fewer free-throw attempts. So, it's tough to side with Luka.

I’m not savvy on refs so I can’t say. But I honestly don’t think it matters for game 4. Mavs are a defeated team or a resemblance of a team. They are garbage and game 4 is the end of the series. Enjoy it and start getting ready for the summer.

Celtics Looking to Sweep

Game 4 of the NBA Finals is tonight, and the Boston Celtics can win the Championship tonight with a victory.

The Bookmakers have listed the Celtics as 1-point road favorites against the Mavericks. Boston may only be 4-5-1 ATS in their last 10 games, but this is a 1-point spread which means which side you pick, they need to win for the bet to cash.

The Celtics have gone 15-2 through 17 playoff games so far. Tonight’s game is at 8:30 pm ET on ABC.

Yes there's no doubt refs have an impact. Someone looked at Eric Lewis' history and it was pretty damning how much he favoured Boston in their games. As much as they are supposed to be impartial, they are always going to be biased especially with so many strong personalities involved. I'm sure Scott Foster isn't the only one that despises Chris Paul lol

No complaining from Doncic just now -smiling after every foul, and I don;t think it was simply because they were winning. I think we'll see the best version of the Mavs in game 5, but can they defend the Celtics well again? Absence of KP helps -Hauser huge for them in game 3 but not in game 4.

If they could win they could put so much pressure on Boston who I still don't think is very mentally tough. I wonder if Brown still being favoured for Finals MVP lingers in Tatum's head a bit and makes him press. Really good psychological gamesmanship from Kidd to plant that seed calling Brown the best player. I'm not sure if it's actually worked but it was definitely worth trying. Overall still doesn't feel like enough for Dallas on the road where their role players aren't as good but 7 point underdog winning is never an impossibility

Here’s the G3 rating. I hate these things now with comparing pre-Covid and post-Covid. But I see overall it’s so-so. Nothing to brag about but nothing to worry about. Anyway here’s a portion of it:

Wednesday’s Celtics-Mavericks NBA Finals Game 3 averaged a combined 6.0 rating and 11.43 million viewers across ABC (5.7, 10.97M) and a Kevin Hart-fronted alternate presentation on ESPN (0.27, 453K), flat in ratings and up 2% in viewership from Nuggets-Heat last year (6.0, 11.24M) but down 3% and 1% respectively from Warriors-Celtics in 2022 (6.2, 11.52M). Those games aired on ABC alone.

After the least-watched Game 1 in three years and the most-watched Game 2 in five, Game 3 set no multi-year mark. The Celtics’ win ranks as the second-most watched Game 3 in the past five years, but the fourth-least watched in the past 17 (and second-least watched excluding the COVID-era series of 2020 and 2021).

Compared to Game 2, ratings declined 2% (from 6.2) and viewership 7% (from 12.31M). The Celtics’ win peaked with 13.93 million viewers in the 10:45 PM ET quarter-hour, down from the Game 2 peak of 14.42 million but up from the Game 1 peak of just 12.11 million.
