If Brown is in line to win the award, does that mess with Tatum's head a bit since he's the #1 option and thus the one that's "supposed" to win the award. Does that mess with his play and deteriorate the overall team play as a result ?

I know legacy is definitely important to a lot of these guys and it's not just titles and winning the Finals MVP might even be more important... it's probably why LeBron played so poorly against Dallas in 2011

Anyway just thinking out loud here as no one on Boston actually had a spectacular game, the scoring was very balanced and it was an overall team effort so Tatum still should probably be favoured to win it and it would probably take something more than just this for Dallas to overcome the gap in star power

I’m not savvy on refs so I can’t say. But I honestly don’t think it matters for game 4. Mavs are a defeated team or a resemblance of a team. They are garbage and game 4 is the end of the series. Enjoy it and start getting ready for the summer.

I thought Embid, Tatum, were the 2 worst for recent years. Tatum has matured. Luca was a disgrace last night, acting like a 16 yr old. The calls were bad on both sides as at least 2 BOS dunks were clear fouls by DAL. Doris is so biased anti BOS it's hard to swallow for a objective fan.

As I stated a few days ago, he has been exposed for his lack of conditioning, failing in the 2nd half.

Jaylen Brown was always (college) special (to me). He has matured physically, mentally, and leadership wise. I got into a debate a few years ago (on here) Durant vs Brown. My main argument was that Brown was trending up and Durant was a great player but trending elsewhere. I think this man is special beyond just on court.

Been doing this for 6 decades. One thing to understand is that physically/emotionally these people NBA/NFL especially have put 6-8 months into wherever they end. Once the end is in sight the bottom/totality can come fast.

I don't know this for a fact, and if I get a chance later, I'll research this, but I don't think the NBA, the marketing and ad people don't start making serious money until there's a sixth game.

The serious money for all parties concerned would have been a Denver-Boston, that series would have been a major distraction.

One thing the casual fan learned that most of knew already is the Luka is a major jerk.

The first 2 games did ok in terms of ratings. G1 was a slight decrease but G2 was better. I was entertained last night and think G3 did ok for ratings. G4 will probably be ok, too.

NBA really don’t care if it’s a sweep or it goes to G7 in terms of money. I’m sure they as any sports league prefers more games for more expo. But on money bottom line NBA already got paid by the tv networks. Now the networks definitely don’t want sweep and more games for them will make them more money.
