He landed at the only forum that will have him, Peep's. He still spends hours a day reading SBR though, and oftentimes you can read his thoughts on posts from SBR in threads he starts over there. He's still working hard at being a bookie, too, although 90% of his customers are actually in NYC now. His reputation in forumville is pretty much shot as an e-local. That's about all I know, other than he very much wishes he were back, although he wouldn't give up his dream of being an e-local just to post here.

Actually he always dodged the question of employment or how he pays his bills (since we obviously know he didn't make money as a bookie), so none of us will ever know if he works or not. Most of his former clients describe him as a very lonely man, though, more interested in having people to talk with on the phone than being selective about whose action he would book. It'd be interesting to read some sort of biographical sketch on how he ended up that way.

He got chucked from consideration. Nobody cared if he had been a forum bookie, but the fact that he slow-paid people and wouldn't always take their calls was a huge red flag. He wouldn't have been able to overcome that image even at another forum. There are no second chances in the information age, everything is too well documented.

I think it was the fact that people were going to MODS like it was their fault they were being slow paid.

And the MODS got annoyed w/ getting 50 PMs about the same thing and just ended it.

Side Note....being slow paid is not a red flag. I would rather be slow paid than not get paid at all. And 100% of posters were paid off

Being slow paid is most certainly a red flag. It's a sign that the book doesn't have adequate cash reserves to pay winning players. If they can't pay you in a timely fashion for a modest win, how are you ever going to feel comfortable betting a huge dog or multi-team parlay with that establishment? He had Bobby posting up cash when everybody else was on credit, and when that didn't pay off all the winners, Bobby had to pay out of pocket. It was a massive failure in every sense of the word, and forums don't want failures as Mods.

Don't argue with Rogue Scholar as you will never win, he hit all the facts right on the money. I am sure Tony is a good guy but did not have funds to book wagers.

My final thoughts is Tony as a person and a handicapper are ok but he is not a bookie because way to underfunded .

Mostly because I predicted the outcome of his endeavor from the start and begged SBR to ban him early this year before he spread his cancer to our community. In March we had three TSop shills in the chat room blatantly diverting people from legitimate sportsbooks to TSop's operation. Not only was our integrity compromised but we essentially had internecine warfare between those who could tell TSop was a fraud and those who were taken in by his tactics. Two Mods acknowledged that they were aware of the situation but that "management" had decided that it was better to let him stay with reduced privileges than lose the posting volume that he brought.

I post when the subject is mentioned because I think it's important to remind both old-timers and newbies about just how careful you have to be when you trust someone with your wagers. I also would like to see more of a commitment to community policing and self-government on the forum. All that evil needs to flourish is for good men to do nothing. I don't want another evil like TSop to sully our community.
