    Squares In Vegas
Just made my plays at a book in Vegas.

Had to wait in line while a man screamed at management demanding them to pay for his lost ticket on a baseball game. While it's not to lose a ticket, one should treat it as they would cash and put it somewhere safe.

The other one that gets me is the guy that makes the big bet and try's to pay for it with his ATM or credit card. I see this at least once a week.

Dont forget the guy who sends his wife/girlfriend to the book to bet for him, and she doesnt know what the hell she is doing. I always get stuck behind her in line.

....or the one's that lean on the counter and take 10 minutes to decide what they are going to play today. And last but not least, let's pick our 10 teamer at the window while were at it.

BTW - I send my wife quite often, but she goes with a list. She doesn't understand why people hold up the line either.

haha, or the guy with like 100 different "parlay" cards for like $2 each.

Also got the guys who bet $5 -$10 on a game telling you which team is going to win, and blah blah blah.... I always fade those for more, and usually hit lol

Vegas books are tough to beat. No idea how people play there after the time i've spent offshore. Granted it probably is nice to walk away with cash, not that I'd know losing more than winning in vegas

True....true indeed. I dread Saturday & Sunday for the next 6 months or so.

How about the one's that ask you what all those +'s & -'s mean?

Actually, I get better value at the off strip books than I get off shore. If you play at the strip books, you'll get hosed.

                  Strip Books = Hosed

Gotta go to places like the Hilton, Terribles, Union Plaza, etc ....

Just got back from the book myself with another one:

The guys who wait in line with no idea what they are betting on yet. Then when they get to the window, they stand there, scan the board, name off a play or 2, scan the board some more, name off another play .... then cancel a play and put another, then right as they are about to leave... find yet a couple more plays they want from the board ....

All the while, Im trying to play the Jays, which start in less then 5 minutes . . . . .

I would tend to agree with this. Tons of value to be had downtown, comparable to SIA/Bodog. Strip books can also be slow/playable but to a much lesser extent.

There used to be value on the strip years ago with the smaller books. I used to make a lot of bets at the Santa Anita Sports book on the East side of Las Vegas Blvd. I would always watch the games in the Stardust which was the best book for keeping up with games in progress. The big sports books on the strip offer no value.

I am sure there are all kinds of stories out there. Have not spent too much time in the Vegas sportsbooks as there is a lot more to do on any property than sit with these degenerates.
