If MISSISSIPPI were to lose this afternoon, they would be ELIMINATED.

They actually still have a shot(see Florida last year) simply because they started the season ranked in the top four.........if they run the table in the very tough BIG 12, they could still find themselves in the title game, but they have their work cut out for them and will also need outside help.

Every year, Oklahoma screws the pooch but then plays lights out to end the season and fool voters that they are the best team in football only to lay another egg in a BCS bowl game. Last year they pulled the okie doke and got in over a team that beat them We'll see what magic tricks they can pull this year

Stoops is an expert at fooling the media.
His brother Mike may have a top 20 team in Arizona shortly..........they play at Iowa in two weeks and a win there would do the trick.

Oregon and Illinois had no shot at the get go. It will be interesting to see what type of adjustment Oklahoma make while Bradford is out. If they don't beat Idaho St and Tulsa by 50 points each, and get by Miami, nothing they do after that will matter.

Buffalo?
You really think a MAC team can run the table and be in the top-2 of the BCS?
Yeah, I am saying no to that one.

Buffalo has a tough meeting with PITT this week..........this should be one of the better match-ups of the week.

Iowa head coach needs to
move on to the pros
there is time when a coach needs to move on and the school might feel the same way. The Iowa program is stale right now.

I was saying that Oklahoma would have to beat those 2 teams by at least 50 and beat UM to be in the contention for the national title.

A victory of minor proportions over Tulsa keeps them in the hunt.......beating them by 50 pts instead of 15 will have very little bearing overall on them qualifying for one of the top 2 spots.

12 points seperated them from having an unbeaten season last year........and they were the only Big Ten team to win a bowl game.
A few years back it appeared Iowa had set themeselves up to be a consistant top ten team for the decade and that has not materialized.......in that regard, they have gone stale.
Next year this team should enter the season ranked in the TOP TEN, and with a much easier schedule than this year, will have their best shot at playing in the title game since their 2002 team led by Brad Banks, Bob Sanders, and Dallas Clark.
