    Inglorious Basterds
Yes, that's how they spell Bastards, with an e, so please direct your criticism to Quentin Tarantino if it bothers you. Anyway, while not being a huge Tarantino fan (I enjoyed Pulp Fiction), there was nothing remotely interesting playing at our local cinemas so I decided to invest 8 bucks and take a shot. Well glory be, the freaks on me! It was a terrific film. While it was initially difficult to buy Brad Pitt as a southern, ass kicking, military commando bent on killing and scalping Nazi soldiers, I grew fond of his performance. I think Billy Bob Thornton or Tommy Lee Jones (in his younger days) would have been preferable but it's all about getting asses in the seats and Brad Pitt is box office gold, so I understand Tarantino's choice. I'm a very tough grader but I have to give it an A-. See Inglorious Basterds and watch history get rewritten.

I still think this was an overhyped movie with absolutely no character development or insight. The "authentic" feel of foreign language left me confused when subtitles weren't used. One great acting performance in the film (Waltz) and only one great scene (with the French family in the beginning).

I give this a C+, tops. Absolutely no replay value whatsoever.

I really liked this movie. Look for Christoph Waltz as the winner in the Best Supporting Actor category.

I haven't seen this yet but since you brought up the topic of spelling, they are spelling the first word INGLOURIOUS.

Guys,I am not buying this movie was "that" great ?
                    Christoph saved the movie !
He definitely will win an academy award, but why just supporting role ,why not "best" actor ? [Bet on it, not my College picks again]
He throughly dominated this movie !
And without Brad Pitt's [stupid] accent ,and the "most" unbelievable ending to an interesting movie I may have seen , this movie gets high marks, maybe a 9,or so ?

But ,"how to destroy a movie in 30 minutes" , is what QT did with that outrageous finale .
I'll fill you in....The German Officer, played by Christoph, is a "brilliant" fellow, and he's physic enough it seems to be able predict the future of the war, nobody's fool, him !
He's clever and calculating, and trust's no one, yet, he buys into the "escape the executioner route" by surrendering to,and he is fully aware of ,maybe, the toughest , meanest, and most merciless killer ,the USA has to offer in WW 2 ?
That ridiculous ending made me lose respect for the move's credibility .

                    I give it a 7 1/2 or 8 .

                      Agree...great movie.

And don't sell Pitt short. Have you seen the Guy Ritchie movie---"Snatch", with Pitt as a bad-ass fighter? Great performance, and great movie.

                        A little over-rated.

Saw it today. It was a bit cartoonish but it is a QT movie
