#5I don't even think they're that good. They rely way too much on their starters. Winning an NBA championship is a grueling gauntlet and at some point your bench has to come through. I don't see it with this team. I doubt they would've got out of the first round if the Clippers had been healthy.
People act like they got Durant for free. That wasn't the case at all. Mikal Bridges is a phenomenal two-way player, Cam Johnson was a key piece of their rotation both as a starter and a reserve, and Jae Crowder was a major reason why they made a deep run the the Finals two years ago. All those guys are gone and KD is magically supposed to make them better?
I'll be the first to eat my words in this thread if they win the whole enchilada, but I don't buy the hype at all.Comment -

#18Yes. This is something I've observed. I've commented on this b4 on this forum.Originally posted by bjb7223Calipari sure has wasted a lot of talent, between Murray and Fox, he should have more than 1 national title
I believe that Calipari's tenure at KY is one of recruiting players to the name recognition of Kentucky. Get them draft-ready for the NBA, normally in one year (or two). Not necessarily much player development.
I'd argue that these high-end KY recruits come in at the head of their HS class and get drafted high enough into the pros. Have they gotten any better or really pushed when they're at KY?
Go thru the list. These KY players make for soft pros. Start w/ the Tin Man Anthony Davis...and go from there.Where's the fuckin power box, Carol?Comment -

1 more postseason wager for me then I'm done if i lose. Colder than madonna 95 year old body. Not in the same zip code lately. Square material.
I did see the denver fans go nuts while i had the tv on mute. I take it the Ukraine war is over and they solved cancer

That didn't work. Learn.
Really fishy stuff today and yesterday. Big late moves on kimg and suns. Both teams changed the starting lineup. Okogie replaced craig, looney in for green. I don't get why.Comment -

#25The Craig to Okogie flip is meaningless, they're both weak links in the starting lineup. Nuggets starting five is rock solid, even KCP is balling out. Maybe the Suns need to dust off Cam Payne a little, he used to be a spark plug off the bench and now they keep him in bubble wrap... Not that he would've made a difference tonight, but Phoenix needs to find a pulse on this team other than the usual suspects.Comment -

#26Yea agree they should have tried payne, even Wainwright who played football.
I don't believe in suddenly changing lineups in a big game because you get used to routines, hard to learn new lineups on the fly.

#29OK it wasn’t a curse but an injury. Or maybe it’s the curse that caused his injury or whatever, The bottom line is never trust Chris Paul…Originally posted by HeadsterxThey can be their own worst enemy. Chris Paul’s curse and KD injury prone.
Chris Paul got hurt, again. It feels like a terrible rite of passage each postseason. Paul left late in the third with what the Suns called “groin tightness,” but there’s no outlook on whether he can return for Friday’s Game 3. Booker was already the catalyst of this offense, but winning four games without Paul will be tough.Comment -
