Let's take a stroll down memory lane with your pal Nasher, shall we?

Bear in mind words such as 'best', 'worst', 'great' etc. are subjective and these are just my opinions, and like butt holes, everybody has one.

The buzz word du jour is 'generational' and imo the greatest single season MLB teams in my lifetime were the 1975 Reds, the 1984 Tigers, the 1998 Yankees, and the 2001 Mariners.
The last great MLB 'superteam' being the 1998 Yankees.

My favorite team of all time were the 2015 Kansas City Royals, they were not a 'generational' great team and I'd be ignorant to call them one, doesn't change the fact they were my favorite team, a rock solid very good team, easy to root for, and so on and do forth. The same can be said for the 2004 Red Sox team that swept a team that actually had a better regular season then the Sox, the St. Louis Cardinals.

To put everything into perspective, the last 'superteam' imo, the 114 win 1998 Yankees beat the 106 win Atlanta Braves, the two of them won a combined 220 regular season games, read that last sentence again, it's highly unlikely you'll ever see a WS matchup like that ever again.

But I digress, by now you all should by now that I am the king of digression.
Back on point, the topic being here the TB Rays and their remarkable start to their regular season.

As great a start the 13-1 Rays are off to, they will not come close to breaking the 1984 Tigers 35-5 start, and I guarantee you they won't even come closer to breaking the Tigers month of April record of 18-2.

How sure am I of this?
I have a proportion for any of you who'd like to take me up on this.
I'll set the over/under total wins for the Rays at the 40 game mark at 29.5 wins.
You would 'only' need to go 17-9 across the next 26 games to get to the 30 win mark, forget 35, just to get to 30.
