    advice needed - extrabet
    Hi,

I placed a SuperBowl Player Prop with UK bookie Extrabet.

The line was TJones (-5.5) v J Addai, and thats all the info that was given on the line.

I assumed it was rushing yards and liked the handicap so took it. When I saw the line had lost and not won like I thought it had, I queried with them only to be told that the line was actually rushing & receiving.

They tell me that there would have been a small info icon next to the bet which would have confirmed the rules, I had not noticed the icon, and it wouldnt have worked anyway (decided after checking this with the existing icons on a few boxing bets).

They also say that if the line was rushing only it would have been miles out, but I disagree with this.

They are not having any of it, even refusing to refund stake.

Just wondered what the feeling was towards my position.

    Regards,

    John.

How much did you lose? You should never place a wager unless you fully understand what you are wagering on. That's the problem with all those stupid props...most books don't clearly explain them.

Unfortunately the onus is on the bettor to know what he/she is betting on unless you feel you were misled in some way. I'd be curious to see how it was listed in your pending wagers.

          04-FEB-07 18:58:15 T.Jones [-5.5] vs J.Addai

I assumed it was a rushing bet, and the odds and line fitted closely with other books offering a rushing prop.

I am arguing my case, as I feel the market wasn't clear, although yes the onus was on me to place correctly.

I hear ya Cagey. That's a tough way to go out.

Yesterday Sportbet credited a player for a win on a Russian Hockey bet because their NHL betting page said OT counts for wagering purposes and the Russian betting page did not, so he assumed it wouldn't. They took responsibility for not initially giving him all the info he needed to make the bet even though it was in the rules. No harm in asking.

                Good news.

After a few emails each way, Extrabet have agreed that the site was not showing the full info required. And that the terms and conditions state that a dispute should be resolved agreeably. They have refunded the initial stake.

I am fairly satisfied that this is the right solution.

                Cheers.
