#14 The General
If this list was based on actual posting and quality of the posts alone, Pete would be #141,452,982. He's a terrible poster. 95% of his total posts are either "Good Luck", "Good Morning" or "Semper Fi". Some say he is/was the most overpaid person on these boards. I have read he wa smaking upwards of 5000 dollars a month for a very long time. But, Gomer Pyle makes such a dent on this list because of who he was, not what he wrote on the boards. Pete was heads moderator at the RX during its most successful and busy times. He was a master at settling and handling debates. Pete had the respect of many, but probably would have been respected even more if he just laid off the posting and stuck to the behind the curtains work. He just came off as a dumb-hill-billy type. When Ken sold RX and opened EOG, he brought The General along with him. General was once again at the healm of a fast growing forum. I never saw eye to eye with Gomer. When I started posting at EOG, Ken asked me to post under a different name. We OK'd it with Pete. And he thought it was a good idea. When people began to question if Filinuster was MadCapper, General came out and said he "caught" me red handed. He said he had no previous knowledge that Fili was ** and he would put an end to it immediately. He even sent me neumerous emails (of course all his emails were supposed to remain private) asking me to stop posting at EOG. Well anyway enough of my relationship with him and lets get back to Pete. He posted some WNBA plays. He might have been pretty good at that. But who really cares about WNBA?! He is by far the least knowledgable about sports and sports wagering. When Mofome left SBR to come back to EOG as a paid poster/mod things got hairy and General up and left with Dirty to try to start their own forum, called GIQ. Man was that a disaster! Maybe he should have stole the EOG database, like he co-conspired with Ken, taking the RX database when they left RX. But Pete smartened up and accepted a job at SBR. Luckilly for the posters at SBR, he doesnt post much there. He was probably told by John and Bill to just stick to what he does best....player/book disputes and eating his Egg McMuffins! Apparently there's no subsitute for experience when you're babysitting, Fiver. Wait...that doesn't make much sense...most babysitters are 16 year old airheads who've never been paid to do anything in their life...
I wanna know...how many Mods here have babysitting as their first real job? Could this truly be a career path? Like going to college for early childhood education...but not.
