2) blount has had some disciplinary problems at oregon during his career including just a few wks ago at fall camp. this is why oregon suspended him for THE WHOLE season, because they are fed w/him. this was just the final straw for him, it is not an isolated incident.

It was a terrible reaction from the Oregon player, irresponsible, foolish, yet a human reaction nonetheless. We expect athletes in the public eye to hold themselves to a higher standard than some guys playing a pick up game, but fact is whenever you're coming off a tough loss, walking away dejected, defeated, minding your own business, and someone slaps your pads, talks trash right in your face, it is NOT so unfathomable to throw a punch.

As for the "sucker punch" part of it, that Oregon player was striking him regardless, perhaps next time the Boise player will realize that if he is going to talk trash to someone's face and put his hands on them, that person just might not respond with only words.
