No doubt he is going to play the race card. All he has to allege is ANY racial overtones, and a significant number of people will not only forgive him, they will say he's justified. Plus, with the Boise coach trying to pull his guy away BEFORE the punch, many will say even the coach knew what was said was bad.

I think blount did it just to give the fans some entertainment, one of the worst season openers ever so might as well throw a little MMA in there to wake ppl up after 50 turnovers and 6 straight 3 and outs

Guy trash talking shouldnt have been.

Blount has had trouble in the past though so he needs a message sent to him. I did think it was hilarious when the fans were trash talking him and he started to go after them and they backed up.

Blount is bad news....I dont blame him for leveling the guy here but geez do it while the guy is looking at you not turning away. The guy head slapped him and said some crap to him...so its on after that. But going after his team mate???? Going after the crowd????? Bury him for that....Looking at his history of being a slacker with the team I says half the season at least.

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) - Oregon has suspended running back LeGarrette Blount for the remainder of the season for punching Boise State defensive end Byron Hout after Thursday's game.

As Boise State began celebrating on their famous blue turf after winning the game, Hout yelled in Blount's face and tapped him on the shoulder pad. Before Broncos head coach Chris Petersen could pull Hout away, Blount landed a punch to Hout's jaw, knocking him to his knees.

Blount also had to be restrained by police officers from fans heckling him on the way to the locker room after No. 16 Oregon's 19-8 loss to the No. 14 Broncos.

After the game, Blount apologized for his actions.

"It was just something that I shouldn't have done," said Blount, who had eight carries for a loss of five yards. "I lost my head."

Boise State announced Friday that Hout would not be suspended for taunting Blount. School spokesman Max Corbet told The Associated Press in an e-mail that Petersen planned to spend time with Hout this week to help him learn from what happened.

For one ,I am one of the worst individual's in the world on how I handle defeat !
I take DEFEAT personal !
To me it's similar to a KICK IN THE GROIN !I despise being defeated !

Yet, I also know when I lose at some game or what ever game of chance I pursue, that I alone have to face up to the responsibility of my share in the "personal" loss .

But,I would not tolerate my opponent or opposing team to rub it in with trash talk right in my face ,as did that sucker-punched dumb-ass for BOISE ,and at the same time put your hands on me in a scoffing manner !

Yeah ,they should suspend BLOUNT for 1/2 the season at least,however, without that "unforgiving hands on mockery in defeat", things no doubt would never have spun out of control !

I say, give that "non-innocent victim" his share of blame and punishment, for not only,or just, .... that "busted" jaw !

I am sure he will get his punishment from within the organization, which is the ONLY place it should come from. What happened to him as a result of the tauting was handled properly by the Oregon administration.

Have some sympathy for the guy. He came from the hood, and that's how they settle dispute.

What a dumb fuk, risking his career because over words. Worse yet, he wears Oregon Uni. uniform. He represents the school. Not throwing his @$$ out on the curb shows that the school tolerate that kind of behavior.
