When will it be safe again??
I read many posts by many different people that they expected many books to either close their doors or stiff American customers after the super bowl. So far havent heard of anything but again I havent heard if anybody is actually getting paid.

When do you guys expect the books that were going to close to actually close their doors? How long untill we really know how this post-pinnacle, post-neteller internet gambling industry really will be?

I’m pleasantly surprised there hasn’t already been more bad news the last week or two, though if Neteller never pays that would certainly be a huge blow.

It’s still an uncertain enough period in my mind that I’m unlikely to jump back in in any volume until baseball at the earliest. And that’s only if things have clearly stabilized by then.

I’ll be weighing my options between now and then, including moving out of the country, or more likely establishing a fictitious address in Canada with a Canadian bank account, etc. Or it may be back to business as usual from here, or quitting entirely for that matter. All things are possible. Depends on the state of the industry at that time, and just how drastic the measures are I’m willing to take.

I need some down time after football anyway, so right now I’m just trying to get more of my money back from offshore, and I’ll wait until later to make any longer term plans.

I have been asked this a lot the last couple of weeks and the truth is that you will know when it is safe if you stay on SBR and listen to the mods and the members with a high post count. They have been here and done this back with WSEX and the Jay Cohen crap among other valleys in the industry.

Just hang around and you will see the industry bounce back.

I was planing to wait untill baseball season, but if things stay smooth for 2 to 3 more weeks I see myself starting to deposit back again to matchbook; I get the safest impression from them, if things would start hitting the roof again I feel that they would stay there longer than most books.

We need some payment processors more than anything. I wonder how different our world would be if Bush would have owned an e-wallet company before he came into office.

Guys, It's a really bumpy road right now with the offshore industry. I feel that the safest way to play offshore is to send international money orders sent via fedex overnight. I know it's very inconvenient to use that funding method, but it's definitely the safest way at this time.

I think it it's pretty self explanatory to everyone to only play at only top notch books at this point out, because the safety of funds factor.

The one thing I do worry about is some of the books that use to be part of a cooperations at one time. The only reason I say this is because there might be something they didn't define clearly in there sale contract (hence the $1.00 sale type books), where the DOJ could arrest somebody as soon as they touch U.S. soil. I'm thinking privately funded books like thegreek should be very safe, just as long as they don't show there face in the U.S.A.

Greek, Bet Jam, CRIS among other Costa Rican books with healthy track records. My favorite reduced juice out right now is Atlas for hoops during their happy hour.

I would say it is a decent out. I have it funded.

I cashed out a check by airmail. It has been 18 days and I still dont have it, but I called and they explained that they were having an unusual high volume of check withdrawals and considering the circumstances I beleive it. They told me my money should be in before the end of this week. I feel confident I will get it but I will let you know when.

I think it will be a good week before the stiffing starts to be reported.

You can't really say much if you withdraw after SB, and haven't been paid a week later, under present conditions.

After two weeks you can, or if the book goes offline.

I don't see any way a lot of these books can survive with people being unable or reluctant to deposit.

The list of books that many will be willing to use is very short, pretty much:

                    Greek/ Jam
                    WSEX/Matchbook
                    5Dimes
                    CRIS/DSI ( I hate them)

Most of the rest are just going to lose huge chunks of their former volume, or already have.

Some of those clerks must feel like the Maytag repairman.

FWIW, someone I know from Canada got his Matchbook NT w/d in his account within a couple hours today.

Matchbook should be one of very few that might even gain business with all the BS going down.

The C and D rated books are going to be in trouble. What happens after March... there won't be much to bet on, pretty much NBA, after that hockey gets limited betting, Americans don't often bet soccer, then a long baseball season that most books make little on.

The serious baseball bettors should love Matchbook and the few places with a real dimeline leaving few crumbs to be booked by the lower level books.

I can't see it going anyway but books closing like never before.

With the top books it has never been unsafe, have no clue what this post means.
