When was the last time Wisconsin lost a season opener?
ESPN only has records that date back to 2002. Wisconsin University football is 7-0 in openers (home and away) since then. I'm thinking their streak could go back ten seasons or more. I searched for the answer but I couldn't find it. Anyone know?

They've got quite a streak going, the closest opener they've had in the last five years was a 14 point win, the other four were wins by at least 21 points.

    Anyone taking Wisconsin -16.5?

So you're saying their streak goes back to at least 1998?

Well, in 2001, they won the Eddie Robinson kickoff classic over Virginia, but lost the next two.

ok, in 1997, they lost to Syracuse, 34-0.

In 1995, they lost to Colorado, 43-7.

They also lost in 1988-1990 and 1992. Four out of five seasons.

From 1988-1997, they were 4-6 in season openers. Since then, they're 11-0.

                I don't have data from before 1998.
That's a ten year string. I'm feeling more and more confident about them. LVSC started them at -13 and the line's up to -17 at many Vegas books. The loss isn't coming from Wisconsin.

The loss you need to win the bet won't come from Wisconsin. Where did you get that data?

Thanks. betcris has Wisconsin -9.5 -115 for the first half. I think they're expecting a blowout.

this wisconsin team keeps getting worse.
keep in mind their last regular season game was a overtime home victory against CAL POLY in which they needed the cal poly kicker to miss 3 extra points to escape.
and the bowl game was a complete whipping at the hands of florida state.

no way would i be laying 16.5 points with this team, that is a sucker line.
