I was wrong about one thing. He said they shot it 15x, not once. But note how "Carlo" talks about Caan really injuring him during the scene. The venom was real.
Yeah that’s interesting a lot of crazy tidbits I’ve learnt about that film over the years. Cheers mate.

Gene Hackman, Robert Duvall, Jack Nicholson, Warren Beatty, Robert DeNiro, Dustin Hoffman and Robert Redford are the last of the old guard remaining. But James Caan was certainly in that group that has passed, along with Dennis Hopper, Marlon Brando, and Paul Newman.

Gene Hackman might be my favorite actor of all-time.

Arnold's 'only' 74, outside of that gray stubbly beard/goatee he's rocking he's still in real good shape.
I don't know if he's still booting chemicals into system, but if he's clean, I think Arnold can reach low 80's.

He just had some kind of heart surgery. Arnold pumped a ton of steroids into his body practically his entire life. I don't think he makes 80.

People seem to be living a lot longer than they use to. Trumps still doing his thing. It makes me happy to see people doing there thing at a ripe old age. Gives you hope for when you get to that point.

When this generation of actors dies we would be left with snowflakes. These guys were the last tough generation that wouldn't take shit from anyone.

I think The French Connection was better than any of Eastwood's Dirty Harry joints, and I loved every Harry Callahan movie ever made.

French Connection was epic man, the car chase alone was as good as it got.

I love older movies. Those actors (Gene Hackman, Roy Scheider) have such an edge, holds up well over time.

Here's the Gianni Russo ("Carlo") interview.

His stories are amazing. But they ring true.

He talks about fuking a 28-yr old Marilyn Monroe when he was 15 years old.

2:00 Here's the part where "Carlo" talks about getting into some problems with the mob. James Caan set up "Carlo" and almost caused "Carlo" to get whacked.

5:00 Caan got smacked around a little. Caan got in trouble for messing with "Carlo."

"Carlo" says the bat-throw wasn't in the script. And Caan was really going at "Carlo" in the clip.
Where's the fuckin power box, Carol?

When you get in your 80's the clock is ticking. Can't live forever. If you make it past 85 and can still make sense of things and remember what happen to you yesterday you are winning in life I say!

Can't beat father time. Live now because tomorrow is never promised!

Is that poster yours? The Gambler is a great movie. James Toback was really underrated movie writer.
