#2i contacted them 9ish months ago about opening a non gambling merchant account with them and they said they only deal with gambling sites. Evidently the 1 or 2 sites that offer non gaming items are just for show.Comment -

#3I contacted the guy Capitalist Pig was talking about, and it sounds like he is totally cool with Neteller, despite recent events. I've only got a few hundred to burn, and besides, I'm a total lush, so I spend at least a grand a year in liquor anyway. Time to stock up. I also did some other searching, but couldn't turn much up. I guess Ebay seller are the way to go. I did see some other people on Ebay that take Neteller, but nothing I was interested in. I'm drunk right now, so I guess booze is the way to go. But, I still think Neteller will sort it out, but WTF, I can't stick it into a gambling account, so it's dead money for the moment, might as well have some fun with it. BOOOOZZZZZEEEE ITTTT.love ya guys on SBR.

#4If ebay sellers can take neteller, thats seems like a very good way for people to get their money out.
have a friend seller them something through ebay for their entire neteller balance.Comment -

#5I'm guessing you conduct the transaction through p2p, which kills it for U.S.Comment -

#6Most of the sellers that accept neteller on ebay are not neteller merchants. Since US residents can't do peer to peer this is not much help. I mean why pay the 5k or whatever it is to be a neteller merchant when you can use paypal.Comment -

#7Find a website and ask them to take neteller
What you could do is find a website selling something that can easily be turned into cash, such as phone cards, gold coins, collectibles, etc. etc., and tell them that they could increase their business many times if they accepted neteller. Preferably find someone in Canada or Europe who is accepting Can $ or Euro and would not be afraid to take neteller.
Another idea is for someone here to jump on this business opportunity - if, and this is a big if, neteller would go for this - but they might.Last edited by louis; 02-04-07, 03:04 AM.Comment -

#8I agree, louis. A dude could pay the 5k to be a Neteller merchant and recoup that 5k easily with all the panic about Neteller right now.
I saw one EBay auction where a guy sold his Neteller balance for 50 cents on the dollar. I'm not sure if the P2P went through, though, or how that situation ended. My point is there are some people that will pay a steep premium to get their money out of Neteller, right now.
It could be an ideal opportunity for someone, if they could safely avoid all the red tape. My guess is that Neteller is stalling on accepting new merchants right now, and will heavily scrutinize the merchants "intentions" right now as well. Someone posing as a "Neteller USA balance liquidator" in even the slightest way probably will be denied a merchant account, get account locked, or who knows what. Pretty sketchy right now.Comment
