Here's something that really works ......it's great if you have a juicer.
Eat 4 stalks of celery every day for 7 days it lowers the BP 15 to 20% then dont eat it for 2 weeks and repeat keep BP it check. Im not a doctor but I did stay at a Motel 6...so check with your doctor before you do it.

Blood sugar level is more important to control than BP for gamblers. Gamblers make more impulsive plays when blood sugar level is out of whack.

I had a check-up with a new family doctor recently and my blood pressure was quite low. Like to the point where she was looking for causes and asking if I had eaten that day and whatnot.

It was definitely not always low when I was abusing substances addictively, but since cleaning up, it is naturally low-ish.

The point about the importance of eat, sleep and exercise is well made. I make a point of eating well and getting plenty of exercise. The sleep seems to be taking care of itself. It's good.

As for relating all this to being a gambler, I would guess that overall I am more relaxed and healthy now than when I was working conventional jobs. I am definitely a lot happier.

What's the point of living if you have to eat well? Work out and eat whatever you want.

During the warm weather months, I mainly ride my bicycle a lot. I have a hard time just exercising for the sake of exercise but if I give myself a little mission, I'm good. Like ride to the bank, ride to Loblaws, ride to Blockbuster - whatever. Even if I just need one thing at the grocery store, that seems to be motivation enough.

There is a public outdoor basketball court I wander over to sometimes and shoot hoops for half an hour or so.

Depending on how life is going, there is sex. That can be good exercise.

The winter is much harder for me. I can take walks to that plaza where I am doing all my bike riding - but I don't like walking as much. Or else I force myself to do little 15-20 minute workouts in front of the TV. That can involve stretching, swinging some dumbbells around, crunches etc. Ideally I get some kind of workout at least 5 or 6 days a week. With any luck at all, there is a sex life going on.

Exercise is really important to me. I had a really bad lazy winter a couple winters back and everything seemed to fall apart. I gained weight. My attitude went for crap which affected my work habits which cost me money. It was kind of startling how bad things got and I do not want to repeat that and I feel that exercise is a critical factor.

My cholesterol is bad. Apparently it has more to do with heredity than my eating though. No matter how well I eat, my cholesterol will be high (just as my blood pressure will be low).

I am on meds for cholesterol for life. The good thing about these meds is they seem to keep my cholesterol down even when I am going nuts on the wings/fries/ice cream - whatever.

Whenever I am going to get tested, I eat really bad for a week just to see if the meds still keep things under control. They do.

Yeah, like I have a feeling that the Cubs are about to give up atleast 1 run in the bottom of the 9th just so I wont hit the -1.5 bet. That's the type of stuff that drives you to high blood pressure, snapping, cursing, assaulting, etc.
