Only time I seen a live match in a theater was back in the late 80's Leonard/Hearns on a Marine Corps base. It was great.

I mean i know i just spent $32 on 2 tickets for me and the wife but a few things:

      1. buying it on PPV for $50 or whatever and watching it at home with a bunch of our douchey friends who don't even watch boxing would suck, cuz they'd just be saying stupid shit both non-fight related and about the fight the entire time

      2. i think the movie theater atmosphere will be sweet

I remember my father when he went to see Leonard/Hearns somewhere back then on "closed-circuit". Huge backup of cars at the place and so much interest. Those days are gone for boxing.

The military opened the theater and it was free for us as I recall. jam packed and a great atmosphere. Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort South Carolina. Also, while in Okinawa, Japan, we were allowed to go back to our rooms during working hours to watch Buster Douglas/Mike Tyson and the world series as well when the Reds won.

around here though the movie theater atmosphere is almost as bad as your home sounds.

at 9:00 on sunday night some people think it's a good idea to bring their 6-8 year old girls to an R-RATED HORROR FILM!
i also saw a couple of under 10 year olds at the 9:30 or 10:00 showing of "two for the money" with al pacino a few years ago.

                  wtf is wrong with people??!!

It was early afternoon in Japan so it was over in that part of the world, yes.
