Not even saying it's a country thing but more of a state thing.When flying back from the bash they flew over South Dakota and were descending almost by then to land in Duluth,Minnesota.I was thinking to myself,25 minutes away as the plane flies you have the least restrictive,regulated and least taxed state in the country in South Dakota and then you have one of the most opposite places in Duluth,Minnesota where everything is regulated and taxed.How on earth can that happen so close in distance?

If you mean different than where I was born for this life, there are a lot of places I could be happy as part of their citizenry. The UK or Canada would suit me fine, except that I'd sort of prefer someplace a bit warmer where I could play gardener at least 6-8 months a year. So maybe Australia would be fine though the only place I've been there is Perth so I have little to really speak of as far as the country overall. Spain, Southern France, Singapore, this one little island (maybe 30 acres or so) off the coast of Malaysia, I could find a way to be happy just about anywhere, very few places I've been to on this No. 3 sphere that I haven't enjoyed.

Two easy choices, although one is hard to admit being of Portuguese descent. In the New World, Canada is the obvious first choice, preferably southern British Columbia. In the Old World, I'd choose Spain, likely in Galicia or further eastward along the Bay of Biscay in Green Spain. Both are progressive countries with liberal, secular democracies that have legal gay marriage and no criminal penalties for individual marijuana consumption.

Second-tier choices would include Chile, New Zealand, Ireland and the more sparsely populated northern islands of Japan. If I were king for a day I'd actually choose to live in Corvallis, Oregon if I could successfully engineer a secession movement for Washington, Oregon, and Northern California from the Federal Government (reference the aborted State of Jefferson).
