#106I did watch the 1st quarter and Harden has taught Embiid well on how to get fouls. They don't try to make buckets, they both try to get fouls. I've never seen anything like it ever in the NBA. They grab guys arms, pull guys down, just crash into guys and the refs call it. It's ugly basketball and was the main reason I stopped going to Rocket games when Harden was here. No one wants to see that shit and in the end the Philly franchise will eventually suffer. Watch and mark my words. A few years from now Philly will be in the same boat just like the Rockets. Empty seats everywhere.Comment -

#112VanVleet is tiny, defense was never his forte... He excels as a secondary or tertiary scorer, but TOR can't rely on anyone in the series for consistent buckets so now Freddy is pressed and out of his comfort zone.Originally posted by Goat MilkSomethign not right with vanvleet, Maxey blowing by him on every playComment -

#113Vanvleet is a good defender, he's stronger than Maxey easily and more physical, you can tell the knee is bothering him a lot. He was chasing around steph curry 2 years ago in the finals and did a great job, if he was healthy I'm sure he could handle maxey and would win that matchup easily. I am saying this because I do not think toronto has a chacne to win this series without vanvleet going off. this is an all star player.Originally posted by Eddy MunnyVanVleet is tiny, defense was never his forte... #119Klemo - I'm not a Raptor or Philly fan. Don't really care who wins and haven't betted that series. I'm just not a fan of guys like Harden, Trae Young and now Embiid who work to get fouls instead of make baskets. The NBA did something about it at the beginning of the year but now have totally abandoned it as they want to manipulate games.Originally posted by klemopixx

I took my kids to the Rockets game the last year Harden was in Houston. After watching him shoot 23 free throws and 56 total free throws from both teams and close to 4 hours to finish the game, on a school night... Fuk James Harden and his flopping ways. I don't go to games to see a free throw shooting contest. I ain't got time for that shit.
Now if you can make money off of them. Knock yourself out.Comment -

#121Sixers were getting a lot of favorable calls last game and it only encouraged them to keep at it. But I'd proceed with caution if I were Embiid... It's one thing for a guard to keep crashing towards the rim, fishing for whistles, but someone at Embiid's size is more likely to tweak something and end up in street clothes.Comment -

#122There is Embiid injury news, I suppose it's nothing but it's said something to look at. People forget this guy is one play away from being his usual fragile self, and if that happens it's hard to imagine the sixers winning the series even up 2-0. they have no backup to Embiid. Paul reed is clearly not going to do itOriginally posted by Eddy MunnySixers were getting a lot of favorable calls last game and it only encouraged them to keep at it. Embiid has a history of foot issues and has had surgery
Joel Embiid is limping to the locker room. After that last collision he was grabbing at his left foot/ankle, and then on the last defensive possession he came up hobbling again. Didn't try to do much and then limped to the locker room at halftime.Comment -

#123That's a great point. He took a really hard fall on one play where I think Siakem came over the top on him and he collided with 2 Raptor players. I'm the type that whenever a guy flopped against me, I made sure he felt the foul the next time. As soon as Harden grabs my hand, I'd arm bar him and put a stop to that shit. Try shooting with a cast. LOLOriginally posted by Eddy MunnySixers were getting a lot of favorable calls last game and it only encouraged them to keep at it. #126They won 3 games already and Toronto won zero.Originally posted by lakerboyThis is an all in play. Sixers are the most overrated team in the East. They have nothing besides Embiid and Toronto isn't worried about him because the rest of the squad ISN'T great.
Harden is washed.
Harris stinks.
Thybulle can't play all the games.
Toronto is very deep and long near the rim. They will give Philly so many problems. I don't see Philly winning more then 2 games.

#128Excuses? I don't care who wins this series, I have no money invested. I call it how I see it. 3 years ago vanvleet was guarding steph curry in the nba finals and holding him down, now all of the sudden he's struggling with maxey? Yeah I won't be surprised if he gets a knee procedure this summer or something comes out about his knee after this series.Originally posted by thomorinoVanvleet shot 60% from the field in game 1 and he couldn't miss a shot in the first quarter of game 2, Van Vleet is fine, stop making bs excuses.

That wasn't a fluke raptors beaten sixers 3 times outta 4 in regular season and always played them tough.Originally posted by biggie12When a die hard raptor fan that follows the team very closely says they have no shot you should probably listen. #133examples can be used, but the regular season is clearly not the same as the postseason.
the first sixers loss, they were without embiid (and obviously harden.) maxey lit them up for 33, but the raps won by 6.
the second loss, the raps outscored them by 10 in the 4th and won by 5. harris was 2-9, embiid 6-20, harden 5-12.
the third loss, the raps won by 5 at home. thybulle didn't play. harden was 3-12, embiid 10-22, harris 3-8.
a common theme was the raps were barely winning while holding down the sixers big guns. it was unrealistic to keep expecting that, especially in the postseason where these guys will be getting more minutes and push forward with better shot selection.Comment -
