Good game yizer. I don't do speed chess though. Never been comfortable with it. I don't mind a clock per se, but it's gotta be at least 15 minutes a player next time. I don't think a half hour is too long for a game of chess, by any stretch.

well, usual speed chess is 5 minutes.

this was 8/3.

But ok. Next time we'll do longer. 15 minutes takes the clock out of play, really.

Increments, BTW, refers to the amount of seconds added back per move. So 8/3 means you have much more than 8 minutes.

well, I beat jellobiafra with a fairly quick checkmate. He still had 4:13 left on the clock.

In fairness, he doesn't like 8/3, I guess.

So I'm 2-1 now. I'm watching mathdotcom play j now.

mathy might be good, in which case I'd drop to 2-2.

Hey yizer... you crushed me. No doubt. I just dont like timers though. I don't play the same with a clock. I've never played that way. We used to take bong hits and play chess for hours at a time. Some games would go 2 hours. I'm a purist, you see.

lost to mathy, but that was not easy for him.

I had no idea what was going on in that game, but I was up a knight vs. a pawn early.

I eventually just resigned after I lost a bishop on a mistake late in the game.

Was even, though.

paid. I wasn't sure whether it was set up to bet because we didn't mention points, but we've been doing 5 a match until now, so I'll assume you meant 5 a match for that one.

10:1 time odds? Those aren't odds. That's just the timing setup. My eyes lit up when I saw 10:1, but you just mean 10 minute timing with 1 second increments.

I'll play you again another night, when my connection is faster. When I played this time, the lag was so bad that by the time it registered my move, it showed your piece as having already moved and that I was on the clock again.

Wasn't a problem with jello because he wasn't moving as quickly.

At equal time, I would give you more than 10:1. "10:1 time odds" means you get 10mins, I get 1, but I get X pts if i win and give X pts if I lose.
