When I was a kid I threw a coin for many yards on a table. The coin stayed on its edge (I hope it is proper word). I am rather staying away from coins.

Nope.
I can not risk a wager on "fun". Good luck with it though IMG.

Have you seen the coin? By closely examining it you might be able to find that the inscription on one side contains more material than the other side and thus the coin is unbalanced. This might give you a .000000001% edge on the book. Good luck my friend!

Was it last year or the year before where the little kid did the flip and like it was the worst throw of all time; he just dropped it, it flipped maybe once. I remember laughing about how mad I'd be if I'd have lost a bet on the flip on a garbage throw like that. At least give me some spin for my money!

Does anyone know the weight of the coin? Maybe we can get a slight edge if the engraving is a different on one side of the coin

I am the same way and that's why I stay away from prop bets like this. Good luck though imgv.

This is a dream prop for the book...there is no handicapping to it. It's truly 50/50 in every sense of the term. Couple that with the fact that it is one of the first props and it is televised and short in duration (i.e. people don't have to watch it for more than a few seconds), people will gladly bet this. As a result, since there is no handicapping and it is a 50/50 proposition, books put this prop up and get 50/50 action on it...there is absolutely no risk for them with it and they make out well on it undoubtedly.
