I just made 2 Futures bets on the Cleveland Cavaliers

D2 called it. A lot of teams bunched up in the East. Anyone could come out of this on top. Injuries and possibly Covid could hit any team. No team has been hit as much as the Cavs. No one could imagine the Cavs being a game out of 1st place without Sexton AND Rubio??? Plus losing EVERY GUY on the team for several stretches this season.

In the East, 8.5 games separates #1 from #10. In the West, 22 games separates #1 from #10.

On further inspection, yes they could drop to the play in game but it is virtually impossible for them to miss the playoffs. The Pistons, Magic, Pacers and Wizards (Beal is now out the rest of the year) are all in tank mode already and the Knicks just flat out suck. So worst case the Cavs are in the playoffs. The Hornets and Nets have been in free fall but I expect the Nets to turn it around once Durant comes back but that could be another 3 to 4 weeks. They might dig a hole that they can not get out of. Harden's hammy looks like it might never heal until he gets traded. Their worst enemy is themselves. They couldn't get out of their way last year and shooting themselves in the foot again this year. That team might just be cursed. Thanks Kyrie.

So the chances of them dropping to the play in is pretty slim. They've lost their key player in Garland and still kept on trucking. This team is probably the most resilient team in all the NBA.

Yes this is correct. You have to get into the final 8 to be considered a playoff team.

Always padded his stats when the timberwolves were down 20 his career yr. His best yrs had him winning 20 games a season as the guy, he is nothing but a glorified role player not an all star by any means

He's a talented player that requires space and shot clock to utilize his skillset which could bode good or bad.

Maybe delegate him as the primary ball handler with the second unit?

Poetle scored ZERO 0 points the last time they played. He had like 11 rebounds but didn't score a point. Allen put up 17 and 16.

This could be another tough game without Garland. If Levert can run the offense and setup guys like Allen it could be an easy cover but if he struggles moving the ball, they could struggle to score.

I'm riding Cavs 1st quarter and 1st half plus the Under 1st half and game. I still think without Garland, you have to play the unders.

Love is a straight up scorer. He knows how to put up points. He was pretty useless playing with Lebron but he's showing right now glimpses of what he did in Minny. The other night he scored like 20 and had a shitload of rebounds and assists. Love's game is lovely.

Goodwin played last night D league game. Garland is supposed to play but they are going to see how he feels in warmups. They could also use Levert at point as well.

I hate that I already bet the Cavs under thinking Garland wouldn't play.

I think this might be a blowout game. The Cavs should be really feeling good about themselves. The roster really looks great and there's a lot of excitement in the city. The offense could struggle a bit in the 1st quarter if Garland plays but I'm liking the 1st half and game line now. May have to cancel the Under bet with an over bet and pay the juice??
