Question about bank Checks from SB
Does anyone know if U.S. banks still accepting checks from abroad as in sportsbook?

Bodog and Matchbook no longer do ** or Money Gram. They will only send out a Check.

    I'm worry:

    1) U.S. banks won't accept the check, making it worthless and lose money from sportsbook

2)Takes forever to get a tracking number from sportsbook these days.

I don't even know how to get the dough out. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Thank you

I just deposited a check on Friday with no problem. It comes from a third party, so nothing looks suspicious.

I haven't heard a single report of a bank not accepting a check. I've heard quite a few recent successes.

If a check isn't honored, I am sure the book will "make good" - cancel the check, and refund it to your balance in 2 weeks (when they know the check has been cancelled).

I wouldn't expect banks to refuse checks from sportsbooks yet though - the regulations describing what banks should refuse have not been finished (or distributed to banks).

Now in June, it might be harder to get your money.

            The problem is foreign checks

Banks will accept a check with Federal Reserve routing numbers no problem, but some banks do not cash Canadian or foreign checks without a U.S. correspondence bank.

At some point I strongly suspect U.S. banks are going to do whatever they can to close accounts of online sportsbooks. Whether they close correspondence accounts, is anyones guess but they might, forcing foreign banks to close online gaming accounts.

As for now, if a sportsbook sends you a foreign check even if it is dollar denominated the bank may not accept it, and those banks that do charge hefty fees, and it takes a long time to clear.

Would be useful to start a list of banks in the US that cash Canadian checks - those without US routing numbers and/or US correspondence banks, and how much they charge to do this, if anyone would like to contribute to the list.

i just cashed a check from TheGreek for 3400. it came from Solidpay out of Canada. it was scary though b/c the computer did not spell out the cents (.45) so the description did not match the paid amount. they took it to the manager and then came back and said they couldn't pay me the 45cents b/c it was not typed out. obviously i said who cares and i gladly took the 3400. it was kind of scary b/c i didn't know what the clerk was looking at. i didn't see anything on the check that said it came from a sportsbook.
