I believe ABE may have fallen asleep on us.

The thrilling conclusion will come tomorrow surely.

RYAN SPEER is the "winner" of guessing .......that ABE went to sleep on the sbr members ,so I must give him one point !

The real winner of the most popular individual of the three above mentioned was ....CHARLES LINDBERGH !
That makes Young Dr. Stale the winner again ![maybe he has a doctorate in History ?

Even though,I am getting suspicious that Young Dr. Stale patiently waits until his fellow members narrows the "correct" answers down to only one left it could possibly be...hummmm ?
Maybe he is a "wise" individual of Jewish blood ?

Anyway ,here are the logical reason I choose Lindbergh as the most popular at his peak ......
He was a tall individual,[never could find out how tall,I would guess 6' 4 or 5 inches ?] striking in looks, and a Jimmy Stewart personality, meaning, rather shy and humble ,with a daredevil mystique ,with a suicidal determination to achieve whatever daring mission he undertook .
AMERICAN'S love that kind of person, especially if you are "tall" !
Lindbergh was also very intelligent, especially having intricate knowledge of airplanes .
The mission he undertook was as dangerous,at the time, as ,for instance, as picking up rattle snakes in the desert and sticking them in a gunnysack !
Meaning ,sooner or later you get nailed for the "big one".
That mission of course ,was to be the first person[to survive] an Atlantic Ocean crossing from New York to Paris .
Several other daredevil types from Europe attempted the Paris to New York route .
No one succeeded, but "many" died trying to be the first one !
So Lindbergh tales his destiny into his own hands by stripping his chosen airplane to the bone ,so to make the plane lighter and easier to take a larger volume of gas .
Which at the time didn't look like a very "bright" idea because of what you had to surrender for that larger tank pf gas ?
That would make the crossing a one way ,nonstop flight with the extra large gas tank. You would not be able to land anywhere ,I understood ,but the Atlantic Ocean !Scary as hell situation !

Lindbergh survived of course[probably by the skin of his teeth?],and the monumental feat make him an instant ROCK STAR all over the World, and especially in the USA !

I saw video tape of his return trip from Paris .
I have never seen anything to compare to what I witnessed !
In that famous ticker-tape parade in New York City was simply histerical ,nuts, with humanity everywhere, like swarm's of ants all going crazy !

Hitler was all about the "facade" he represented ,a fake,a phony, with not any attractive physical characteristics a person could admire !
He simply had people fooled ,or maybe just intimidated, with his oratory ?

Joan of Arc,I understand ,was only popular with certain faction's of the French people .She simply had too many enemies on the political scene .

So a person's popularity is determined by their height and who played them in a Hollywood movie? Not questioning Lindbergh's selection here as the man was extremely well-known and popular around the world in his day. But does this mean 100 years from now that Clippers reserve guard Mardy Collins (6-6) will be more popular than George W. Bush (6-2)?

                                Willie,you are a bit "fullofit " !
You know AMERICAN'S love "tall" men better than "small" men ?
And really admire them if they are tall, talented, and handsome !

George W.is only 5'11 1/2 ,so there is another mistake you made .
                                The elder Bush was about 6' 2",or 3" ?
Would you admire ,more or less , for example, if you found out STEVE MCQUEEN'S "real" height was around 5', 9" ? [true]
Or another example...if you found out JOHN WAYNE was only 5",8" tall ?[not true]

It's psychological admiration ,and seems to be a built in the human brain .

But,I wasn't trying to single out Lindbergh's height, but that was just another "important" reason for the "madness" AMERICA had for him .
That was a weak point in your argument...you don't mention how daring and courageous he was ,just that "height" thing ?

Oh LAKERBOY....I keep thinking of you as an widdle kid... like about 8 years old ?

I will need to see some ID if you post on me again .

Here's your lesson on the thread I posted ...just because HITLER was once the most powerful man in the World did not necessarily make him the most popular,or loved man in GERMANY !
He was the "most" well known MAN in GERMANY,sure, I won't argue that .
But he "pales" in comparison to LINDBERGH on being popular, and "loved" by his Countrymen .

HITLER had a more intimidating, and BLOODY COLD presence ,no doubt, but GERMANS didn't love him so much they as feared and respected him.

Who could love a LOUDMOUTH, short, somewhat chubby, and not much in looks guy, like HITLER

LINDBERGH'S popularity was fueled by admiration and love !
You must watch the biographical video about LINDBERGH on Hulu.com .

Like I said before,I have never seen so many people in one place ,cheering, and going NUTS for LINDBERGH, this of course, after his Historic Atlantic crossing to Paris !
Now that ticker-tape parade was his peak in popularity !

HITLER'S peak in popularity ,I suppose, would have probably been right after GERMANY swallowed up POLAND ?
He was both admired and respected ,but he never loved by his Countrymen like LINDBERGH,not even close !
