She does get credit for difficulty of the routine, but she also gets deducted if she fails to execute the 'triple' precisely.
I mentioned it's a Catch 22 damned if you do and damned if you don't situation.

Agreed. She seemed so joyful and happy in the aftermath interviews knowing she was out and done. There's no mental illness going on.

She just can't get the job done anymore and quit to avoid potential humiliation in my opinion. Win as a champion and lose as a champion especially in team sports. Try your hardest!!
