Why do you invest so much in your favorite pro team? The emotional and financial investments people put in these teams amaze me. As Seinfeld once said, "you're rooting for laundry." If these guys wear the right laundry (your team's uniform) they automatically become the good guys. I can almost see my way clear to rooting for a college team if you graduated from that school. But these professionals could care less about you, yet you worship them. Today's athlete is a mercenary (with good reason by the way $$) and is only playing for your team because that's where he's getting paid the most to ply his trade. I say good for him but what the hell is up with you?!

I once saw two fans in a bar, one from NY and one from Boston watching the game. At the end of the game the loser went over to the winner and said "Good game" and shook his hand. Nice gesture I guess but they weren't even playing! Tow weeks after a world championship most people forget who won the damn thing anyway. If the Detroit Pistons win the NBA championship is that going to make me want to visit Detroit, home of the NBA champs? Ah, not on your life with all due respect to Detroitians. If your friend, relative or family member is on a particular team, I get that 100%. But otherwise, other than gambling, what fuels people to stay home from work (well, I'd use any excuse so bad example), or celebrate like it was a personal achievement? I'd rather have my home entry win rather than not but that's where it ends for me. Responses?

I believe the term Deuce employed was dikk boy when referring to me. And that's fine as these forums are a conduit for expression whether that be thoughtful and articulate or boorish and gutteral. However, if I am going to bear the brunt of someone's reckless and rather dim comment, I will not play the nail to his or her hammer. I will issue a visceral response without the vulgarities or profanities often found here and in other forums. If my use of the phrase "bed wetting pansy" has caused you to wag your finger at me, may I submit I think it's fair to say we've all had bladder control issues from time time only Deuce probably has them more often than most.

As far as my responsibility vis a vis Caribsports and the code of conduct you feel I should abide by, you do have a point. Unfortunately, your hair is covering it. No, I'm just kidding, although I do love that line! To address your comment directly, I am an entertainment personality. My job is to either drive traffic to the site or hopefully keep the traffic coming via my podcast. I am not one of these loudmouth (check that, I can be loud) , pretentious cretins who extoll the virtues of their powers of prognostication and guarantee that which cannot be guaranteed. I do my research, isolate a game or two I believe have the best chance of winning and make a declaration predicated on nothing more than statisitics and intuition. However, what makes my podcast unique is that I attempt to inject a bit of levity and humor into each podcast. Also, I own up to the losses instead of focusing exclusively on my successes. Therefore, if you believe I am supposed to roam these forums and conduct myself like I am the Customer Care Representative from Wal-Mart, I am sorry to disabuse you of that notion. Consider me toiling in the same capacity as that of a radio personality for Entercom or CBS. He has a distinctly different persona than the Vice President of Communications. He can be irreverent, satirical and indeed sometimes callous. That is his job. Although that is not primarily my job, I reserve the right and shall maintain license to defend myself against low brow knuckle draggers that pejoratively refer to me as "dikk boy."
