Do you watch sports at home without having action?

it helps to have action on the gm, but I will usually watch the games just b/c I LOVE SPORTS....now for a WNBA gm, I will 100% not watch unless I have action on it.

So let me be a little clearer, if I like the sport I will watch regardless, but if I dislike the sport or don't normally watch it, I will if I have action on it

Sometimes, I always have a NY game on every night

I now gamble just to maintain a level of normalcy, basically like a drug. I think the feel is gone unless I bet way more than I can afford to lose. I bet to stay alive and not get pains in stomach, I guess minor withdrawals if I have nothing going or no money in accounts or all loaned up.

Ill watch games, particularly local ones that I dont have money on, otherwise, not so much, I wont watch the Yankees and Red Sox unless there is cash on it, i just dont care about some teams/games

College football i watch regardless.
Used to watch NBA back in the good days. Have to have action now for NBA.
baseball is pointless, to boring cant even watch with action

At one time I contracted this disease, but thanks goodness, now I watch many games without any wagers. I am very happy that I can/do enjoy sports once again without wagering.

I was a sports fan before I became a gambler.Like many have echoed I can't watch much sports anymore until the end of the games and in the NBA that usually means 2 hours.

I watch a lot of games without action on them for the most part. Best to zero in on a select few that you want to actually wager on.

I watch every single Illini football and Basketball game, I usually have money on them but not necessary. You will not meet a more die hard Illini fan in the World than me.

I'm with the Genny on this one. It used to be impossible to watch a game unless I had a "rooting" interest in it but now I can watch a game without needing the action fix.

Having said that, I don't watch many games in any sport. Since my primary job is sports, I get enough of it at the "office". I might be the odd man out here but I prefer to follow the games on the web.

Interesting range of responses. But one thing did strike me in this small sample, most do need some action to get them thru the game. Yahooino echos my thoughts completely. Now here's the thing that fascinates me. Those nationally televised Fox baseball games on Sunday afternoon. If your local entry isn't involved only the most die hard baseball fan will sit for three hours to watch that game. Personally, I dont get that but I wish I did. Can you imagine being able to watch any game on tv as though you had money on it?! Think of all the money we could have saved boys!

Stopped being a fan when I became a gambler. It's helped me alot because it's easy to fade my home team. But then again, everyone fades the Lions

i love watching sports wihouth puting money on either side ,
but there is absolutely no way i'm going to watch a baseball game without any action on it.
Same applies to woman sports in general , handball and alpine skiing

I agree Paco business is business, once you are able to come to grips with the fact that the side you bet on has no influence on the outcome of the game, you are doing things. I doubt you will find very many ECU fans bigger then myself, but betting Kentucky in the bowl game this past year was not that tough of a decision. (although ECU had a chance to reach 10 wins, one bet I hated winning

) Also the team you have the most knowledge about is "your team" so why not use that your advantage.
To answer Swinging's question I rarely watch a regular season game unless I have action on it, with the exception being scouting a team or player for an up incoming bet.

Depends on the sport usually, but I often need to have a bet on something to watch it the whole way through. But If I have just gotten lucky with a big win I'm content not to bet again for a little while and just relax and watch some games without sweating.

What I like to watch without action: Football (pro and college), boxing, UFC, and soccer.

Anything else, I need action to truly enjoy it.

The only thing I can watch without action is the UFC. I wish I could watch every sport just like that.
