You need to play 12 weeks in order to be eligible for the Grand Prize.

I don't know how your softwares are designed. Are we able to enter our picks if we do not enter the sportsbook account or tick "No prizes" for a particular week.

You can play for fun on any individual week, but that won't count toward your overall +/- even if you play for real on 12 weeks. If you play less weeks than everybody else, it's already placing you at a disadvantage, so most optimal strategy would be to play all weeks for weekly eligibility, and better Grand Prize standing.

If that is way to run the Beat the prick contest 2009, then I don't think any one can play more than 13 weeks. If you have LooseLines, you are unable to join Jazz. If you have betPhoenix, you are unable to join betMania. My Bodog account was closed last month as they stop accepting bets from my country. I am "very lucky" that I did not sign up Jazz. Otherwise, the max number of weeks I can play is only "11".
Lou, am I right to say that if you do not have the sportbook account for any individual week, the picks your entered for that week won't count toward your overall +/-?

Hi louisville, You need to play 12 weeks to be eligible for the Grand Prize. So if you only enter 11 sportsbook accounts, you are only prize eligible for 11 round prizes, and not the Grand Prize.

Bill said yesterday that it didnt matter if you didnt list account #s in each book, as long as you posted plays every week and had a BM account you were still eligible for the grand prize. Am I correct here? Im only eligible for prizes 4 weeks, but with a BM account that made me eligible for the grand prize, right?

If you make the Minimum plays: 48. you are eligible for the overall contest grand prize pool assuming you entered your BM acct and did not check "no prize".
Am I correct to say that if you didn't list account # for a week, you can only play for fun for that week, i.e. your picks won't count toward your overall +/-?
Then, am I correct to say that Bill is wrong and Lou is right?

Im under the impression that as long as you post picks whether for free or for that weeks prizes you are still good to go for the grand prize, and all picks + or - will count towards the grand prize, assuming you have the BM acount.
They need to clarify this, but my guess is they are waiting to see what knd of sign ups for the weekly prizes they get before making a decision. I liked the last 2 years formats better, Id sooner post up $ than have to sign up with 12 books. Actually I wont sign up,Ill just use BJ,GR,BM,and DSI which I already have.

Lord gawd, what is going on here? This is the first I have heard of this. We need a separate account for each week we want to play? And one of them is Bodog (which doesn't take Canadians?)

Incorrect. It was just a software issue. Try again and it will let you join, we've spoke with them about this.

Again this is not so, but I'll be in touch with BetPhoenix to clear up any software issues players might encounter. They'll take care of this.

I actually misspoke slightly. You need to have entered 48 picks to be eligible for the Grand Prize, which is the equivalent of 12 full weeks, but assuming someone for whatever reason wanted to enter only 3 picks one week (which would make no sense), you can still be eligible for Grand Prize if you hit 48 prize eligible picks.

That's right - the Grand Prize is contingent on 48 picks & the Bookmaker account. If someone free-plays and enters no accounts for the rounds, if they do well enough to win one of the Grand Prizes, they'd have also won a lot of the weekly $5,000 pool so it'd not make sense for someone to do that, but one can if desired.
