Depp and Del Toro were so good in that movie. I don't know if any movie has ever captured the experience of LSD (or other drugs) quite as accurately.
RIP Hunter Thompson. One of a kind.

Got into a discussion of this version vs Where the Buffalo Roam a couple weeks ago with a co-worker. This guy said Where the Buffalo was better, which I think is just laughable. Guy says, "Well I'm a big Bill Murray fan". First off, there aren't many bigger Murray fans than me. But if anyone thinks he was a more believable Hunter Thomspon than Johnny Depp, they are crazy. Depp was so convincing I felt like I was watching and listening to Thompson on the screen. There's really no comparison between the two roles or movies, imo.

Depp was spot on with this role, theres no comparsion.
along with the camera perspectives and effects in the movie which will twist my mind stone cold sober.
I didnt know much about Thompson until I was introduced to the movie and than went back and started reading/watching Thompsons antics. He was a complete nut but also brillant.

Uncle Duke was one of a kind. I heard that Depp spent some time with him up at Owl Farm and elsewhere to get that part down. He owns the role. No doubt about it. Del Toro is a great Dr Gonzo too.

I read the same about Depp spending time at the farm.
