What bothers me about the whole tout thing isn't the fact that they misconstrue information, or that they flat out lie, or that they charge far too much, or that they are obnoxious.

Most businesses are 3/4 of the above.

But what frightens me is there are posters reading and watching these things who BELIEVE that this is a good idea, who PURCHASE blindly these 1 and done systems.

It sickens me.

Right on, speer. What's funny is when I get PMs or e-mails from some of these snake oil salesmen pushing their latest and greatest chase systems on me. I feel a little sorry for the naive that dive into it, but at the same time how much sympathy can you have for someone who simply rushes head-first into anything without stepping back to think for themselves?

Couldn't agree more. I do still restrain some sympathy as many people who think about it still make the decision. Lots of psychological dependencies will make some one rationalize it as a good idea.

If people are dumb enough to blindly follow these scam artists, then I think the followers get what they deserve. I guess its their own cash to do what they will with, maybe they just enjoy losing it. Cockknocker has an amazing amount of followers, who seem like they would be willing to blindly place their life savings on his selections. Alot of weak minded people out there. I bet on sports because I love sports, and enjoying watching them, if I didn't like sports I wouldn't bet on it. So many of these weak minded followers know absolutely nothing about sports and are willing to risk huge amounts on these garbage systems.

But each and every one of us is accountable for our own action. I don't see Cocknocker as a cheater and I've never paid for one of his picks. There are Morrison threads, but if you don't play those systems you never have to go into those threads.

I think overall, this place is pretty sane and not overrun with touts and scam marketers.

That is precisely as I said above and I believe it 110%.

My friends often ask me for my picks as they know I know a thing or two but I hate giving them picks because when they lose they get more pissed that they didn't make the selection themselves and I can't blame them.

Posters should help protect the board by reporting any post by someone who is positioning themselves to do business.
