Crazy Lou took some tough beats
Played a lot of NL while I was in Vegas Crazy Lou Played a lot to. I watched him take a lot of really bad beats. He must have had some kind of black cloud over his head in poker. I mean every time he had a huge hand he got miracled. Hope the luck changes for ya.
Lou hit the tabes the most Pavy and Dave loved the sports book.

It wasn't pretty. Lost with a few full houses, to straight flushes, etc.

I think I played well for the most part but sometimes it isn't your day.

      Was a pleasure meeting you.

        Wait wait wait...

You didn't have a full house get trumped by a straight flush TWICE did you? Misleading use of plurals there .

Sorry to hear you had a tough go though.

Sickest beat I ever saw was a guy goes all in for $1,700 with Aces... Board is A,10,2... Rainbow

Dude CALLS $1,700 with QJ Diamonds, turn KD, River 10D... He calls close to $2k with a GUTSHOT draw and no flush draw... It was so sick...

So justice was served on the river when the Aces picked up the boat, where was the sick beat? Just the fact that he made his hand and then ended up losing anyway? Can't feel all that bad for him after that call.

I'm assuming he left out that the ace on the board was a diamond as well?

                    Looks that way.

Not particularly sick though, he caught the card he needed on the turn. Straight was already good, Royal was just for show.

as long as you didn't lose more than you brought and you stayed out of jail i would consider the trip a success!
a bad time in vegas is always better than a good time in milwaukee.

Dave, are you saying calling $1,700 on a GUT SHOT, and youre holding a set of aces, that isnt a bad beat? The dude hits a royal??? Are you serious???

Oh its definitely sick that the guy called with a gut shot straight draw and won.

But how is the royal relevant? Turn comes the king of diamonds, and now the guy's set of aces is cracked and done with. QdJd moron got his straight card. He is now a 4-to-1 favorite to win the hand with the straight already made.

Even after the flop, QJ was a 17% to win the hand. Granted, again, its sick that he got there, but I wouldn't consider getting there on a 4-to-1 to be the sickest hand ever.

I mean I got all my chips in the middle one time with KdKh and a flop of As Ks 2h. Guy called me with a 9s9d.

I was a 96.4% to take it down, and he went runner runner spade-spade on me. That's a substantially worse beat, albeit not as cool with the majestic royal flush showing up.

And actually, not sure where you were playing, but most places have a bad-beat bonus for Aces full of 9s or better losing to 4 of a kind or better. That 10d would have been the absolute perfect card for both of those guys (and the whole table) to get paid in just about every casino I've ever played in.

4 to 1 at the TURN... Big difference than 8-1 on the flop... Just thought it was rough for that amount of money, wasnt like it was $25

Oh yeah, it fvcking sucks, and if you are emphasizing the money and not the hand itself I completely agree, I'd be floored for days on getting gut-shoted for 2K.

That said, I want that call every single time.

                                        And it wasn't 8-1, it was closer to 5-1. (83%/17% = 4.88 to 1)

I see some guys at the casino losing 2000 and not even blinking so maybe the money wasn't shit to him. I would have punched the table so hard on the river. Not the guys fault, you want him making that loose call when your sitting on a set of aces.
