I find myself wagering on games, but not watching. I can't change the outcome, so why stress with watching? I don't wager for action or excitement, just to find +EV positions and make profit over the long term.

#4Very rarely. Now let's be clear the majority of posters here complain for months that they don't watch the nba and nhl regular seasons. If you can't look at a line and figure out what's going on then it's your problem. Watching the games helps very little.Comment -

#5The sport I heavily bet on is soccer but hardly watch it as it's boring as hell. But sports I enjoy playing, such as football and basketball, I don't bet that much but watch tons of it.Comment -

#6I do not watch many games I have bet. I will see scores on my phone and maybe check in on a big situation but most times I’m watching Phillies or sixers.
In my younger days, I watched every gave I could that I bet though. But in last decade, it is not a priority.Comment -

#8I will watch this entire Phillies game. I had season tickets for years and I’m a big baseball fan. Always have been. If I’m home, Phillies or sixers are on. I’d rather not watch game I wager on....get too aggravated because you have games where one call or bad sequence can cost you thousands. Just don’t need something else to annoy meComment -

#9I have a few screens and have games on in the background while working often. I really would consider the watching part of the game a little more entertainment than work.
Asssessing what the hell's going on based on the score, LIVE line or even box scores, capping other sports, etc. is more of the work part of it.
It's a lot like when the office is turned over to stock mode. The terminal is up, info and screens all over my monitors and the financial channel on in the background.
Any financial channel is really just entertainment at that point, no real decisions are based on what they say or do, sometimes some research is inspired, but that's about it.
Not unlike the games, rarely is something inspired and I might have 4 or 5 different sports going at once without compromising the work space.

If you're gambling on sports because you are watching it then there is a huge issue.
But by all means, please continue to do so.
The extra handle just because it's a night game, a big game, or some rivalry game generally benefits the work I do.

#21I realize the Forum thinks nobody can win over time but the bottom line, as long as the bettors, new and old, continue to hit Favorites and Overs over the broader markets there will always be room for success.
As long as bettors will bet a game just because they are going to sit and watch it, there will always be room for success.
Often, it's not about summarizing all the info out there into an edge, it's about exploiting the rest of the market.
It helps to be able to summarize some relevant info, and it helps to be able to recognize what is relevant and when, but understand that we're not really in it together. It's bettor vs. bettor and the books just take commission.
That said, it helps to be able to recognize when the book is taking on the bettors, even if it's just different groups of them at different times.
But unless you realize bettors are against each other, you'll have little desire to understand different groups. If you do realize there is a war out here, in the market, then I point you to Sun Tzu...

#22Of course. I love to watch sports. Watching sports makes gambling way funner especially when you have big money on the line.
NBA is my bread and butter, I slam live lines and clean up all through the year.
I often give a lot back during NFL but there's nothing been then watching redzone, fantasy players, a grand in play on sunday, and your little 7 dollar fanduel entry to try and win the million dollars.
I'd rather sit on my ass on a sunday watching redzone than going for a nice hike.
It's all about what you find to bring you happiness, if watching sports doesn't bring you happiness, no point to watch.Cause Sleep is the Cousin of DeathComment -

#23The sports I watch I do it because I’m a fan, but I’m not a compulsive gambler that needs to watch sports and have money on it
I’m a guy that’s going to pick up a Laurel and Hardy novel and educate myself it’s no secret I’m the smartest guy here.
I support Gambling but it shouldn’t have any connection to watching sportsComment -

Last year's NBA playoffs in the bubble was some good stuff.
Hoping to see the Kyle Kuzshow tonight.

#30NHL playoffs must see TV.
NFL red zone all you need.
MLB because I enjoy the game within the game but frustrating with the shift lately.
March Madness- come on, that’s incredible.
NBA- just don’t like the game today. I was a kid during the best era 80’s-90’s.Comment -

The Boston LA finals in 2010 was pretty damn great too, more of that 80s style dogfight. 83-79 final score in game 7. Foul on every play that wasn't called.
Watching the Warriors with Durant was a once in a lifetime thing. 3 shooters of that calliber. Don't think we'll ever see something like that again. But they had cake walks to rings, and would have been an easy 3 peat as well.Cause Sleep is the Cousin of DeathComment -
