Anyone else HATE cell phones with scores sometimes?

I had the 49ers tonight... $40 to win $36 and in a parlay that was $10 to win $31 and the other two legs hit.

Anyway, I'm at the bash, and I see that SF roars back from a 14 - 3 deficit to take a 21 - 14 lead. I'm amped up and excited as I think I'm going to win close to $70.

My phone ESPN.com says that its Raiders ball with 8 seconds left... and that they score a TD with 8 seconds left. I'm heartbroken. I'm going around complaining to everyone at the bash that I just took an absolutely brutal bad beat on the last play of the game for the second night in a row.

I get back to the room to start a thread about it, and apparently the Raiders scored with 3 mins and 30 seconds?? Where the hell did my phone get the idea that SF was up 7 with 8 seconds left?!?

God I hate internet PBPs sometimes.

Sorry to hear that big D. I hate cell phones. I have 350 contacts on mine and the motherphucker is always ringing. My ringer stays off 90% of the day. I am going to get another one and I am only giving the number to people I love.

A. Stop Gambling
B. Throw out the phone
C. Don't check scores until after the game has certainly concluded

My Iphone 3 (not the "s") is set to bother me on the plays I have working. I can turn it off so no real problems.

Get an iphone, has push scores right to your phone without doing anything. It is similar to a text message and instant.

Remember Axle (James Caan) in the movie The Gambler? He was barreled-in and got a tip from Monkey on a NBA game. He was in a movie theater watching an old Western and had a portable radio stuck to an ear listening for scores People were telling him to shut the damn thing off.

I actually am leaving with cash in my pocket, first time in about four trips that that has been the case .

Lots of near misses on my sports bets, but it was impossible to get "burried" at the bash anyway. Even if I lost everything, the fun we all had would have more than made up for it

Remember one time i had a 200 buck 3 team parlay the last leg was a phili denver over 206. I called and it said the final was 120-107. I call back a hour later n the real find was like 105-94
