The XFL had so much potential when it started. And with Vince's marketing genius you figured it couldn't miss. But it just got more awful as it went along.
Would the league have had more success under someone else?

they had some great concepts
the play was real and I liked how the camera took you in the huddle
i liked the fight for the coin toss although I watched a guy blow out his shoulder doing it
i liked the nick names on the jerseys although most only remember he hate me
the nfl stole the over head camera idea
you could bet on it
and it filled a gap when the nfl was in off season
there was some good talent there too..i miss it

It needed to be setup like a minor league NFL with associations to NFL teams to ever make it work.

arena II is still going strong.
we have a local team and I attend all home games...
love it
it feels my void in the offseason.
we start tailgating about 5 hrs before the game and usually leave shitfaced forced to drink $5 beers once the game starts

I really am one of the few who misses this league..i say to hell with waitng till august for the NFL..I like to gamble on football year round

I liked the XFL and Vince McMahon is a marketing genious. You can't go up against the powerful NFL. It was doomed from the beginning!

That's a good point about Mcmahon. Everything he touches turns to gold. I think if it promoted characters like "He Hate me" and each team had a couple nicknamed players it would have been more interesting than watching a bunch of noname players. They should have made it smashmouth football!

I agree I thought it was awesome. The NFL I think had a part in the XFL downfall!
