That's a really good point. You're going to have more novices jump into the arena that would never have thought to go through the trouble of betting before.
I still hope it isn't legalized in Delaware.

I like the way things are now, I don't want to screw with it and you know what I mean.
JJ makes another good point. Loansharking is going to be a booming business down there.

Why would any bettor object to Delaware getting sports betting?
Just use logic.
If Delaware is successful (and they will be)....all the crap offshores will dry up. Competition brings quality.
The very best offshores will still exist----they can and will be able to compete, the rest will dry up.

Sports betting locally will be very lucrative for me. And that will be without me even having to bet a dollar out of my pocket. So many bets I will take a lay offshore. So many.
Lots of bad bad gamblers in Philly.

Who cares if the crappy offshore books leave? They're not a factor now. If you give east coast bettors an option like playing in Delaware, you're going to hurt the big offshore books.

I think that may depends on the tax law. I don't think gamblers wants to deal with tax levied on their winnings. It's one big factor to consider. I'm not familiar with MD, but if it is legal in California or New York, business will be booming.

Federal income tax is already levied on all gambling winnings of USA citizens regardless of whether your bets were made in Nevada or online in costa rica.
