What's interesting is how moderators become lifers, making it their career choice. Kicked to the curb or leaving on their own terms, they end up at another forum seeking the same "job".

When I started posting on forums (back when the software didn't allow users to register a name), moderators were all volunteers, even at large forums. Now we have people vying for these coveted (yes, sarcasm) positions.

Funny how it turned out...

Once you come to the realization, that your chances of getting laid are slim, it does seems like a good career move

I would rather babysit toddlers than being a mod. Do not understand why people want to be in front of the computer for 12 hrs reading all the bullshit posted in a forum and get paid minimum wages.
