This fits with the weird type of injury/mechanism of injury we saw. As a doctor, I can explain this ... which is why most thought it was odd that his head didn't hit the ground all that hard and he had very significant (drunken) symptoms immediately. If you pull and twist the neck, the level of the "brain stem" be contused or at least greater pressure can make it more likely to be. The spinal cord goes through an outlet (foramen magnum) and spinal fluid surrounds it, and I think also his leaning forward and stretching is arms slightly made positioning the real issue, along with flexion of his head and a moderate hit to the ground or the other player.

The question regarding performance will be far more related to his toe unless he gets hit hard again in the head or neck.

I liked the Bills anyway, so I'll gladly take the points and hope he is "cleared to play" by Saturday, which will allow me to get +3.5, most likely.
