Got a small barbeque on the 1st of immediate family only. Don't want to be hungover so just taking it easy on 31st. New years not a big deal to me since i was 24...These days choosing what to eat is much more important than getting piss drunk. I can and do get piss drunk any day of the year

Celebrating New Years with the neighborhood.

Everyone on our cul-de-sac is planning on being out in their driveways (social distancing of course) with each setting off fireworks to ring in the new year. The rain and clouds should clear out about sundown on Thursday so it'll be a perfect night for fireworks, just a little cold (40F).


Hopefully, the nextdoor neighbor shares his homemade wine like last year. The guy built an underground wine cellar several years back and makes great wine.

New Year's day will start with black-eyed peas, andouille sausage, and rice with bloody marys. It's a southern tradition (the black-eyed peas) to bring prosperity in the new year.
