He's also the all-time BJ giver of any Yankee in history. 345 as it stands right now.

Jeter lives in the same building as Tsoprano. They often bump into each other on the elevator when they are both going down to get their mail. True story.

In this day and age when so few play for just one franchise, it's indeed an accomplishment. But to be knocking at the door to be on top of a list with a team with so much rich history as the Yankees, it's rtuly amazing.

You pay me 25 million a year and I would stick with the same team.

You mean you would stay with the same few teams that can afford to pay that much. Once each team has 1-2-3 truly high-paid superstars, i.e., in MLB earning at least $17 million per year right now, then it could happen more often. But not in the major leagues the way things are structured right now.

That's my point. Jeter didn't stay in New York because he loves the Yankees. It is the only team that can afford his salary. Why would he leave?

Understand pavy. A guy like Jeter who gets drafted high or comes up through a system like the Yankees - - Think you could toss in the Red Sox, Cubs, Dodgers as well - - has a much better chance of staying with one team. Players such as Craig Biggio and Tony Gwynn staying with one team these days is an even more remarkable occurrence. Still, in the case of Jeter we're talking about climbing above the likes of Lou Gehrig, Yogi Berra and Mickey Mantle on these lists, and that in itself is worthy of high praise. Well, it is to me.
