Topper, I agree it's ridiculous the kid is turning down that kind of money.... but the Nats are becoming an organizational laughingstock. If they don't lock this guy up it will be two years in a row that they had the #1 pick in the amateur draft and failed to sign him. It's a joke. They are a joke if they let this happen again and somebody needs to get that joke of a franchise away from the cheap ass Lerners in a hurry. It would be a shame to see DC lose a baseball franchise twice but that's the way I see this headed if things don't change around there. It starts with signing your fvcking draft picks.

Crazy!I hope he throws his arm out goofing around and gets diddly squat.I was watching the Brewers telecast and they said he would get 17 mill in some form if he signed.Not sure what ex jock was doing color but he said the same thing as me where he could live handsomely if he signed and got hurt right away.The only thing i disagreed with is that the color guy seemed to think that a guy could eek out a living with the 17 mill.What planet jocks come from is not the planet I reside in.

The damn DC stadium was gifted upon the Nats with U.S.A.tax payer dollars.The Dallas Cowboys aren't america's team,the Nats are because everyone paid for their stadium.Someone should tell Strausburg that essentially if he signs even now,some of his contract is glorified welfare.I just can't figure these guys out where they get gift money and it's still not enough.

The name Nationals alone sickens me.National socialists!It has fascist tinges to the whole name and concept of the team.It was like it was forced upon the nation to support them when they couldn't find a new owner and home after leaving Montreal.They should have become defunct under contraction.

The draft system is much more of a joke than the Nationals.

Was that really a prop option? LOL. I would have bet that he DID sign, simply because of the pressure the Nats are under. See my above post. This is about to boil over in a big way in the DC area. If they don't sign him the Nats are going to get so much frigging heat locally and nationally because it will be 2 years in a row and this is Strasburg - the most hyped prospect ever. Like Topper, I thought they would have given him anything just to avoid the embarassment.
