I find it very funny to watch the look on people's faces when I tell them I am going on a vegas trip for virtually free. Oh ya, i also get to play golf, free poker tourney, open bar, etc... They all give me this look that says "what the hell are you talking about and what scam are you getting into". I try to explain it to these idiots but it is useless. It came up at our lunch table at work today and I eventually just had to shut up and leave the table. I had chicks thinking I was the stupidest person in the world to go to vegas with a bunch of people i don't know. I just tell them they will never understand so don't ask. I can't wait until the monday morning meeting with the SVP and someone asks me how my "free" gambling trip was. I will be sure to let them know how nice the golf course was, how awesome the poker tourney was and most of all how much I drank!!! Just curious if any of you have received the same responses from friends and co-workers. In hindsight, I would have never even brought it up to these jackasses.

I tell them its a football kickoff party sponsored by a sports site like ESPN. Then you get a few sour-puss "OH!?"s. And even though they still dont understand its a lot easier than telling them Im metting my gambling posting buds in vegas.Comment -

Great thread - I have been struggling with this myself. The boss knows I'm going but thinks it is with college friends. My friends know I am going and it was the verbatim "Degenerate Gambler Convention". I have tried to explain the internet forum thing but it gets very strange looks so the past few days I'm sticking with the good ole "free poker tournament sponsored by a local casino"
