Taking Money Up Until SuperBowl, Closing Down Shop Afterwards, and Disappearing.....
I've withdrawn all of my money and won't be coming back for quite sometime as it's just not worth the risk for me (as small as a perceived risk as it may be to some, I'm just not willing to have even a 2% chance of all my money being stripped overnight), but have heard a few people I actually respect and who claim to be "in the know" say that some books are planning to take in as much cash as they can until the end of the SuperBowl, and then not give out a damn penny of it.

I'm generally the first person to call bullshit on any of the doomsday-type posts, but due to the betting climate we are in and the 100% chance for further crackdowns and the loss of all casual stateside bettors, this wouldn't be a particularly bad idea for most of the sportsbooks left---and that is what makes me think it is plausible. Again I hate to spread even greater panic and fear (or even worse, repeat something most of you have already read several times over from longstanding posters on other forums), but one has to be extremely naive not to use caution at this moment and time.

Good post. No doubt in my mind this WILL happen this year. As I've said over and over, its a very dangerous time for players. Get out and do something else for a while.

        SBRJohn,

I do see it happening also. I say just be very very careful and try to get your funds out after your futures are finished after the super bowl.

          SBRJohn,

Does your definition of 'dangerous' extend farther than just loss of funds? or you see this filtering back to LE actions against players?

Some may not make it to the SB

Say a med-small book is real heavy on the Favs Sunday and they cover! Some may think about not paying KNOWING cash will not flow in the week before the SB

Thanks John. I've only posted a handful of times, but I take this business very serious and am beyond disappointed in the recent happenings.

I used to constantly get annoyed by jjgold's frantic posts that I often thought were without merit, but in the last week or so I'm actually surprised at the lack of seriousness many people have shown towards what all is transpiring.

If you are just betting a nickel here or a nickel there it is one thing, but I put way too much on the line to not gather as much information as I can and to try to look at things from a variety of angles before they might possibly occur. Many people may fail to take into account books' overhead before they even take wager number one.

Sam I could see what you are saying panning out as well and you make an excellent point with food for thought, and I want to make clear I am referring to direct plans right now to wait just a short time in order to maximize handle before screwing everyone entirely. There is every reason in the world for books to do this (save integrity, and we've seen how little that means to many book heads) as they can have one last injection of cash flow before a fairly large dead period and increased US pressure and industry downturn.

Maybe I'm becoming a little paranoid. I can understand the risk of money loss from a book going under. However, I read in another post from SBR_John under the "Meltdown" heading that made me a bit concerned as to whether bigger things are lurking. Such as the US GOVT demanding customer lists etc from Neteller and the SB's.

Now days, if a person is caught with drugs on them the police try to seize the car and everything they own.

Is the because I was critical of 5Dimes? jk

this is why i said dont worry about fees & get ur money

A fee is a small price to pay to have ur money in ur hand at this point. Everyone trying to maximize there dollar may get that dollor ripper off.

Did you see the other thread where someone wanted to send you paypal funds (100% secure) in exchange for a sportsbook transfer? See my other post, I think many of you are "going the wrong way."

                        Anything is possible.

Thats why I want people to be aware of any scams that can surface.

I just cant have my money sitting in any offshore book right now with what is going on. I dont need them running off with it or getting frozen by the US Gov.

Well,Well,Well,I see the government finally got it's seed planted.....even you John....Shit!!! I quoted on here before that after the BOS fiasco,"That the next fuckin offshore book that screws me will be the last".That still holds true, butI won't let the thought of losing a couple of dimes ruin the best time of the year.I am sure that theres still a few of us that just want to play and are not planning on junping off a bridge if what is being said holds any truth."SCARED MONEY CAN'T WIN,so if you're scared...bail....but for the rest of us,can we please get some decent insight on the games forthcoming?
