he is far and away the best player on tour and had a great year

look back at his results in 1998 if you think this year was bad. He won 5/12 events this year. In 1999 he won 1/20. He finished in the top 6 in 3/4 majors. He's had far worse years.

Exactly, one of the few sports where you can't control what your opponent does.....what did you want Tiger to do, guard him while he was hitting that hybrid into the 18th green. Bottom line is Tiger burned the edge on too many points and got nothing to fall, just one of those days.
