The only thing that might work...
I see a lot of people putting energy in writing to congress and other government officials. I support those doing it, but I think it's a waste of time. Remember what all of this is really about. It's not about freedom, it's about money. They will turn a deaf ear to your words as long as you're appealing to their sense of decency and not their greed.

Why do they have a problem with internet gambling? Because they don't have an effective system in place to tax it and they believe it will cut into land-based gambling operations (where they do make money).

You've got to hit them where it hurts. They want us to stop gambling? Fine, call their bluff. Ironically I think the only way to get gambling back on the internet is to stop gambling entirely. What if everyone in the country got together and said from this day forward they would not go to a casino, not play the lottery, not play bingo...now that would get their attention! It's too bad people just don't care enough or have the backbone to do it.

Right now we dont have many choices; but we might as well try some of them. If there is a time when we can get people to do something is now, books, e-wallet's, payment processors, credit cards, banks and gamblers are all scared in one way or another.

I have a lot riding on all of this as well. I would guess most who post here do. I'm not suggesting anyone stop gambling on the internet unless they don't feel safe about it in this climate.

What I'm saying is wouldn't it be great if we all got together and did something that the government would actually care about and be forced to make some concessions. Imagine casinos entirely empty, aside from a few old women. Imagine state lottos with a grand prize of $17. Now you're taking money away from them and now they have to listen and compromise.
