I see a lot of people putting energy in writing to congress and other government officials. I support those doing it, but I think it's a waste of time. Remember what all of this is really about. It's not about freedom, it's about money. They will turn a deaf ear to your words as long as you're appealing to their sense of decency and not their greed.
Why do they have a problem with internet gambling? Because they don't have an effective system in place to tax it and they believe it will cut into land-based gambling operations (where they do make money).
You've got to hit them where it hurts. They want us to stop gambling? Fine, call their bluff. Ironically I think the only way to get gambling back on the internet is to stop gambling entirely. What if everyone in the country got together and said from this day forward they would not go to a casino, not play the lottery, not play bingo...now that would get their attention! It's too bad people just don't care enough or have the backbone to do it.
