    does sbr need "established" posters?
I see a few of the so called "established" posters claiming to leave after the bash, but does it really matter?

what I have noticed on the surface the past few days is a massive increase in traffic and new faces, all fantastic developments and sbr initiatives should be commended.

players talk I thought was meant a place for gamblers to talk and share experiences. most of these "established" posters want to just hang around and bully the new faces and continue to scare them off. hopefully their efforts will be in vain and they will disappear.

I am sure now these mean spirited posters-bread-monkeyhomo-tacofag will come in here start bashing, and start flexing their baby e-muscles as usual.

But to see posters like KR and others like him run off the site is truly sad.

I hope sbr keeps the point system in place and possibly other similar posting initiatives to continue to attract new faces and players.

With all the new posters coming out of the woodwork and with the points system it's going to be hard to tell who has left. I doubt anyone will even realize if certain people leave.

Every year SBR develops new content to hopefully give you guys something fun and informative. One year it was SBRLines, then 4 years ago it was SBRForum. The next year it was BeatThePrick, Free Picks and a major SBRLines upgrade. Last year it was SBR.TV and Contests. This year is starting to unfold with a couple more new sites. As these are being introduced we are already working on some great ideas for next year. There may be a site or concept we develop that does not hit your particular mark. But stay around because we are trying.

                  Sharp post.

People don't like change, and I can understand that. I go to the same gas station, stand in the same lines, take the same shortcuts, etc. Many people are the same with the sites they visit on a daily basis. The moment anything is "different", or something unexpected is added into the equation, the knee-jerk reaction is to dislike it.

To me, so long as posters are always able to rip this forum to shreds, disrespect its sponsors with their God given right to have an opinion, without fear of having a thread deleted or moved, then the forum hasn't changed. It's just gotten better, with more products, and more ways to reward posters.

"Established" posters save novice gamblers money in the longrun. They give advice on shady books, slow paying books, heavy juice books, know who the pretenders are to fade and who are the contenders to follow when posters announce locks in picks. They are the ones who save novice gamblers with thousands of dollars every year from bad money management. They know who the shills are and who the phony ones are in the forum. You lose these "established" posters you lose the foundation of the forum and with time you lose the forum completely and go out of business like the many ghost sport gambling forums that exist now.

pavy, the mods have all of what you said and more

I also think the new posters wont be afraid to post minus all of the attack dogs on the site, thus providing a new and interesting perspective on things.

All of the "bad eggs" in the industry have already been exposed, so a simple search will reveal this.

Lets assume I'm your cousin Joe from Idaho and I have never been on a sports gambling forum in my life. I find SBR get a username and go to PT. What words should I use for my search to find out the bad apples?

What I would do is start reading the PT and if you are an outsider looking in right now it is impossible to find that information with all the litter. For example I know Bread, Robyn, Badnina posted last night in a thread I posted too and wanted to see what they said and I spend 10 min this morning trying to find it.

I like jokes I am not here for winners as I know I am a loser....its gambling and I know I will never come out on top in the end.

Pavy has a point here and I think it is very valid. I never even thought of it in that light at all but I am glad that it was brought up.

SBR turned wine into water with this points system. I can find watered down, uninformative, bullshit posts anywhere. If I wanted that, I would be posting on EOG right now. Do a search on the 2k posts from TPowell the last few days and tell me he's posted ANYTHING worth reading. I really don't care to waste my time sifting through those shit posts. I guess wtf does... That's not really a surprise though.
