#75Yeaaaah, that must be the reason the Celtics lost this game... Maybe they shouldn't have tried so hard in the Raps series and they wouldn't have to worry about it.Originally posted by godukeWho wants to play in a finals where you have no chance to win because the nba wants the lebron, lakers Kobe ending? #86Congrats Laker. This thread always seemed like you were more afraid the Celtics would win than confident in them...It was that three days, came at the wrong time...Originally posted by WrongsideLaker, you've been hot, but I am detecting some Paco like shenanigans here. Are you on the Heat?
i think three days would have helped the Celtics after game 1, not here. I might have taken the Celtics if the game was tonight.
I like the way the Heat lost game 2. You got to give your opponent a game or two, here and there in these series. Jordan did it all the time. Heat know they were outplayed in game 3 and now they are simply agitated. They don't want to start slow anymore. They are hungry, but not desperate. This is a good disposition to sit with for three days. The Celtics might be relaxing. They might be staring down 3-1 in the face after 20 minutes of this game - and that will be uncomfortable.Comment -

#90I think Boston didn’t handle the layoff well. They were very sluggish in the first half. NBA did terrible with the scheduling, you can’t give guys that much time off inside the bubble. If it was typical one day rest, Boston would have had momentum from game 2.
Now the question is, can they win the next one?Comment -

#97I think part of that was directly attributable to the Heat emphasizing a good start. Despite being 2-1 entering game four, they had been playing from behind virtually the whole series due to falling behind by double digits in every single game. They were fortunate to surmount the deficits in games 1 and 2, but it bit them in the ass in game 3 so they really were focused on a good start for a change.Originally posted by KRITI think Boston didn’t handle the layoff well. #103You obviously are not understanding this. I am not ripping on his Celtics selection or making fun of the loss. In fact, I think Lakerboy had the right side. I won't discuss why. I am trying to make the point that there is no such thing as a "lock" in a game. Yes, there are extremely strong plays. Of course. But a lock? How many of you here call your games locks and have lost your arse?Originally posted by KRITHow many replies in those two others threads. My guess will be a lot less than this. SBR for you.
I know he's had some good selections lately. Dallas against Vegas I recall. Vegas too. Tb. He even called the Nuggets on some wins. This has nothing to do with that. I'm talking about plays being called "locks" to win. As if SBR should run out and put up their car title.
Nor am I saying he suggests you do anything with his plays. The word "lock" is ridiculous. I was on an unbelievable run in the NHL playoffs last year and can try to copy and paste it with my previous accounts if they will let me go back in history. And guess what? I, not once, went into each game and called any of them a lock to people in my life that I discussed the games with or to myself. I didn't sit back in my chair and said "there's a win" before the game started.
I think Lakerboy, from what I've seen, one of the top poster of his picks on SBR. So, by no way was I ripping this loss. I liked the Celts too. I didn't bet it though. Just didn't have a reason to.Comment -

#104Following you around, yeah fukking right... You happened to be in this thread making idiotic posts (as per usual) and I responded. It accomplishes absolutely nothing to blame this game on the referees as some sort of crutch in place of logical thought, unless you can point out instances where you believe the refs swung this game decisively and unscrupulously to the Heat's favor. Moreover, why would this be the game to nudge the Heat forward when they already had a 2-1 lead? It makes little sense when when a 2-2 series makes for a far more compelling plot.
This is just like the Clippers series when you thought that L.A. laid down and gave a game away to the Nuggets so the NBA could "showcase" a Sunday game at noon on NFL's opening weekend. Little did you know that that Nuggets win was a forerunner of things to come. I guess the Clippers didn't get the memo from Silver to stop losing games on purpose so the much ballyhooed battle of L.A. could materialize in the West?
You just gloss over facts whenever it's convenient to do so. Don't whimper and whine when you get checked.Comment -

How long have you been gambling? I have for 29 years. I've learned my lessons without a doubt. One of them is I will never tell anyone a game is a lock. The best I can give you, is saying to someone.....this is as close to a lock as it gets and I would only say that if it was one of the best games I've come across in years.Comment
