We all know about sharp posters who bet books soft lines for their own benefit causing books small losses. But lets look at the big picture for a second. As an example last Friday night I released a soccer play through my mail list to my most loyal fans and by the time the game started on Saturday morning the line moved from the -150 line at the time of my email to -200. Obviously the books took a hit of several hundred dollars from my action which the books didn't really care but they must have been mad if they found out the people who followed my pick causing thousands of dollars in their losses.
Should I be afraid for my safety if books find out who is the originator of the sharp action? Will they rather pay me hush money to keep my picks secret in the future or should they send someone to roughen me up assuming they can find me? A book can limit my action but how can they limit the action of hundreds of people who follow my picks?
