    Les Paul passes away
I'm sure a lot of the younger posters are completely unaware who this guy was other than maybe 'the inventor of some guitar,' but the impact Les Paul had on music is immeasurable. And yet you almost have to dig for news right now to find even a small mention of him passing away. Everyone from my Baby Boomer generation to whatever today's generations is called and for generations to come needs to pay their respects to this guy and at least recognize how lucky we all are to have had this man's life cross ours.

Gonna' cue up some Clapton and some Who this evening. Rest in piece, you genius.

Monster of a guitar player; he rivaled Django (and actually got to play with him) back in the day. What a man. RIP Mr. Paul.

I'm glad you started the thread WB. Paul was active right up to his death. He had a standing Monday night invitation at the Iridium Jazz Club in New York. Joe Satriani, one of the great guatirists of this or any other generation, had something like seven Les Paul guitars.

          R.I.P. is right.

No lie Bob, I'm just hoping that I can make it that long without going back into diapers. An incredible mind, pretty much the 'DaVinci & Einstein' all roled into one when it comes to modern music and recording.

this really does make me sad, im glad i read about this for sure but this is very, very sad, the man was a pioneer, an innovator and will be remembered forever as a legend in his own right..
