Marquis has been their best pitcher all year, I like this game a lot... The only thing I dont like is that Pitt hits righty's better...

Pitt just does not have the talent to hang with Colorado, they traded it all away!

Colorado is hitting .366 with a .427 OBP vs Maholm, he has already lost to them twice and Marquis went almost 9 strong against a BETTER Pittsburg team back in June...

I am all over Colorado...

Maholm is an "ok" pitcher going against a non-elite team.......and no, Colorado is not an elite team.

Put it this way, for an actual wager I would not lay over -250 against Maholm and the Pirates if I had the Yanks with Jaba in Yankee Staduim.

As bad as the Pirates are, they have won 40% of their games this year..........

I think the lines for the Pirates opponents have really been inflated lately because they basically traded away all of their good players. We will continue to see inflated lines especially since they have lost 9 of their last 10 games.

I agree with your statement but the team that won 40% is NOT the team that they are fielding right now.

Their CORE is gone, since the trades started they are 8-25 which is 32%... I will take a team that is fielding a borderline AAA squad, on the road, vs a team who is throwing their BEST pitcher and has gone 16-10 in the same time period as the opposing team. Colorado is in the top 10 in EVERY statistical category compared to Pitt who is in ONE, #9 in SB's...

I didnt say the WERE an elite team, I said they were in the top 10 in every category... Doesnt mean they are elite, just means they have put up solid numbers...

A NON-elite team should NEVER be favored by more than -200 unless they have an absolutely dominating pitcher starting.

A slightly above average Colorado team is throwing a 12-8 3.65 pitcher out there and they are -260+...........cmon!

But again, YOU ARE RIGHT, the line should have been even higher, as the punters around the world are laying the price.

Just curios who you consider an elite team in the NL?

I have made the most money this year off Colorado so I hold them close to my heart, LOL.

If they are not elite, then theyy are very close. I think they give the Dodgers a run for their money. Run differential they are +71, behind only Phillies +72 and LAD +115.

They had a bet up about a month ago if anyone would be closer then 8 games of LAD at the end of the season, priced around -160ish and I debated and debated and passed, pissed that I did. I still think they have a shot to win the west and are now only 5.5 back (plus there are still the Giants in their also).

With all that said I don't like a -250 either, I am just saying I think they are elite for a NL team. I have some nice Colorado futures to win the NL at 28-1.

My play of the day, Detroit who is a nice solid dog price now (bought earlier). Verlander to avoid the sweep on getaway day for the Red Sox.

It has been going up consistantly for the past 80 minutes.

Pinny just stopped the avalance though, as they just dropped the number back down to -250.

Looks like were finally getting some buybacks on the PITT side, as the line just dropped a TAD across the board at most offshore outlets.

Oh I agree, I didn't even look twice at Colorado game but I do love my Rockies this year, still a little under the radar, IMO.

Something about a team down 0-3 with an ace on the mound, different mindset I think, especially a good team (or maybe just above average) like the Tigers are but not a bad one also helps in this spot.

Mets this past weekend with Santana on Sunday won in similar type spot. Not down 0-2 but 0-3 is much better. Wouldn't be surpised to see a regular or two out also for the Sox today, along with Youk who is serving suspension. Actually got a crappy price on Detroit in this one (-105). Verlander hasn't pithced as well of last few games but he does have 27 k's to 3 walks in those past 3 games. Plus like you said Buchholz has been awful for quite a while now.

Tigers on the road, Sox at home though does obviiously scare me.
